Where else do you go for vacation?

We generally hit Williamsburg and Hershey in the spring / early summer. Next year might be heading to Tennessee or Colorado. Was in Colorado for business and went to Rocky Mountain National Park and thought the family has got to see this... it was absolutely beautiful. DW and I already talked about skipping WDW next year .

We also go to Williamsburg VA for Busch Gardens in July. We usually stay at the Kingsmill Resort because DH loves to play golf and I really enjoy the spa. We live about 2 hr. from Hershey Park so we go there in October for Halloween. Before we had our little ones we really enjoyed going to Cancun, but for the past five years we have been going to Disney and it is the best vacation by far :sohappy:

I'm from FL, so one year we went cross country to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and of course....Disneyland. I'm also quite the fan of New Orleans so I've been there maybe 15 - 20 times. That used to be a ritual at Mardi Gras time. Ooooh, and there was Washington DC 3 times (it takes alot of time to get through all the Smithsonian's!) Aside from a slew of random road trips one other ritual was my families trip to Daytona Beach every summer when I was young. These days I only head over there for racing :)

Monty and other NJ shore lovers. We went to Cape May before Memorial Day mind you, but we stayed at a B&B down there only like 2 blocks from the beach, was AWESOME. Several allow kids too, just as an FYI.

We are skipping Disney for a few years now that we just went to Disneyland in July and have twins due in a few months.

DH's grandmother lives in Williamsburg so we go there sometimes, go to NY State where my mom lives at least for the next 3 months. We have gone to TN for VBS conferences and mini vacation combined. Went to Grand Canyon and Vegas in December with our son. No favorite destination, we just go wherever we feel at the moment.

We like to visit National Parks in the U.S. We have one of those Passport books and get it stamped each time we visit a park. Our goal is to hit all 325+ parks before we die but it will be tough because we keep heading back to Orlando :)

Usually anyplace within less than 1 days drive from Home (Atlanta). Savannah, Chattanooga, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head quite a bit, Panama City, Destin, St. Augustine. Anyplace warm and on the beach usually.

Is it sad that me and my family don't go anywhere else for holidays lol?
We go to florida like once every two year which is quite cool. We go on day trips to places in England but they don't really count.

Aztec

Just a comment from one of the Idiots that travel in packs here.......

You stayed at the AZTEC????? That itching should stop in a week or so. Could've warned you since I'm a few towns away from the lovely little seaside resort town of Seaside Hts.

Gotta get back to the pack.

I had to look up the Aztec Resort on TripAdvisor... The words "mold" and "disgusting" get thrown around pretty liberally.

I'm sure the B&B in Cape May ErickainPA mentioned is nice.

We have been spending a week at Amelia Island every year for over a decade. We stay at a smaller resort that isn't all that fancy, but is on the beach, and has full size washers and dryers...those who have dealt with the usual stackables in condos will understand the attraction, especially with dirty beach towels.

Then, every other year (it used to be yearly, but the family has decided to again hold the reunions at the beach for a while) we go to the mountains in NC or TN.

The rest of our travel is either for business or special events; weddings, birthdays, and sadly, funerals.

We used to go skiing every year, but my youngest absolutely hates it, and we're getting to an age where we're concerned about injuries, so we stopped a few years ago.

My son just got a job working for the Denver Broncos franchise so I can add Denver to the places I can go for vacation, but I'll have to hit it during the summer. The thought of going during the winter just turns me off. I am not a winter/cold/snow person.

Lately any non-business travel I've done that wasn't to WDW has been to some kind of family event. Wedding, graduation, etc. We were at a wedding in Tampa last November, one in Augusta, GA last June, and another one coming up next month in Raleigh. Business trips have taken me to a few interesting places, too, but I haven't gotten to see much of them.

… and that is why I don’t think the Disney hotels are all that expensive! Every single hotel on the Jersey shore is beat up and overpriced.

My daughter and I have gone to Orlando for the past three years, and I go to trade shows in Las Vegas. We also went to Upstate NY (Lake George) so we could “Go somewhere real this year.”

Sorry super fans.

As a girl from Jersey I dislike staying down the shore at a hotel. The prices for these little hotels can go from $100-$300 a night and every time I see that I say, "We might as well save up and just go to Disney for almost the same price." The beach is only 30 minutes away from me so if I want I just drive down for the day.

I go to Disney one to three times a year and then I go down the shore for day trips but that's about it. I'm planning a trip for May 08 to go to Vegas, Disneyland, and a beach in Cali. And I always wanted to go somewhere tropical!! But Disney is always my favorite!!

We go to Gatlinburg every year around Christmas to see the lights & eat at our favorite places & shop a little.

We go to Gulf Shores every other year or so for a few days.

We normally take a few small trips too but they tend to stop when I have a Disney trip planned. Every penny goes to savings. :)
