Where else do you go for vacation?

Branson, MO is usually our off-Disney year destination. It's an easy trip (4.5 hr drive), making up for the hassle of getting to Orlando; it's inexpensive, making up for the dollars we plowed into Disney the prior year; it's relaxing, making up for the hurry here-hurry there touring we do in WDW; and the Ozark countryside surrounding it is beautiful.

Branson allows us to recharge our energy and wallets for WDW the next time around!

You mean other places exist to go on vacation to besides Disney World??

Monty and other NJ shore lovers. We went to Cape May before Memorial Day mind you, but we stayed at a B&B down there only like 2 blocks from the beach, was AWESOME. Several allow kids too, just as an FYI.

Cape May is pretty. We enjoy day trips there.
And we love the Poconos, as well, although we haven't been there in a while.
Still. . .WDW is hands down our favorite vacations!

Along the same lines, you could have posed the question: "Where do Cast Members go for vacation?"

:)

Our Family prefers (in order)
Disney Cruise Line
Disney's Hilton Head Island
The Biltmore Miami
The Ocean Club, Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas
Disneyland
Sandusky/Cleveland OH (short trip)

We go to FL for a week in February every year, but we don't just do WDW. We really love exploring all of the area, not just the tourist things, and someday we'll retire there.
We also enjoy Chincoteague/Assateague in the spring before mosquito season, Maine, NH, and VT in the summer, and the southwest any time!

i live minutes from chincoteague. and i have no idea what you mean by mosquito season :ROFLOL:

Wow, I'm quite surprised. It seems that people from the US rarely leave it. Do many people travel abroad? I know America is a big place and very diverse, just seems odd that I can make it to the US every year but few seem to come over here!

Does any one travel larger distances? I guess I could also ask who travels the furthest to reach WDW?

The US government is making it more difficult for us to travel abroad. Now we have to have a passport to leave the country (or actually to get back in). Its actually easier for someone to come here illegally than for a citizen to leave and come back.

I've done a few of the obligatory Washington, D.C. trips, and went on a cruise to Bermuda once (with Norwegian. The Disney cruise, however, was much better).

BUT, after graduation in a couple of years, I think I'm planning on going to Costa Rica.

Just a comment from one of the Idiots that travel in packs here.......

You stayed at the AZTEC????? That itching should stop in a week or so. Could've warned you since I'm a few towns away from the lovely little seaside resort town of Seaside Hts.

Gotta get back to the pack.

Well where the heck were you when I was booking it?? Actually took a recommendation from an acquaintance at work. I'm going to put salt in her coffee on Monday!

You live nearby? That explains quite a bit. :D

I had to look up the Aztec Resort on TripAdvisor... The words "mold" and "disgusting" get thrown around pretty liberally.

I'm sure the B&B in Cape May ErickainPA mentioned is nice.

Well, it was our first NJ shore trip and I figure it's all uphill after that.:ROFLOL:

We ski for a week every year, either in Austria or France. We like to go to Tenerife for a week, but not in summertime, its too hot.

We don't go to Disney every year btw.:( (Although this is the third year in a row!)

I spend New Year's, Spring Break and a week in the summer in Georgia (Alpharetta) with my family.

I am saving for an Adventures by Disney. I think I'll do DC first.

Actually if you would have driven just a little out of Seaside Hts, you would have seen some lovely areas of the Jersey shore like where I am at.

Before the kids.... we went to many of the Caribbean Islands, Cancun and Cabo. Since kids many visits to WDW and some long weekends to the various spots mentioned earlier.

We actually did that for about an hour and a half before heading for home and yes, you're right there are some quite lovely areas. Absolutely gorgeous houses. Even stopped at a couple of places to get a feel for the different areas. The people seemed to be pretty much the same though. Lots of "local color" shall we say. Ah well, I guess you get that everywhere. I find in these situations it's best to just go with the flow.

We actually wound up having a pretty good time. We really like being together as a family and there were some pretty hilarious moments at the Aztec that we'll be talking about for years to come.
