We do at least a week in Myrtle Beach every year. I've been going there for 36 years now, so it's a staple for me.

And of course Cornwall.

We go to the National Parks. We usually try to plan a big trip where we visit 4 or 5 (or more) different parks, monuments, memorials, etc. in the National Park Service.

Before the kids came along it was all about the islands; Bahamas, Bermuda, St. Lucia, Jamaica, and Cuba three times. Now it's either Disney, or our camper in the summer.

First off, all you Myrtle Beach fans...where do you stay?

On to the thread....we do a couple mini trips in addition to the yearly disney trip. Last year Tybee Island, this year Ameila and Cumberland Islands...I keep hoping to do a Myrtle Beach long weekend trip...but little beach trips and then the disney trip.

Our family has only been to Myrtle Beach once.
We stayed at Sea Mist ...we really enjoyed it!!!
Hope you have a great time.
We did the "Dixie Stampede" ...AWESOME (dinner & show) !

AHH nothing like Myrtle Beach! people there are so incredibly friendly! Such a relaxing trip , and getting a place right on the beach....Yeah, thats nice....Barefoot Landing is always a must for us, but they have some great places to eat as well!!! And we've done Dixie stampede, as well as the Aligator Adventure (yeah thats a enough once but the kids love it)!

At Myrtle Beach we stay at PirateLand campground. I always camped growing up but now my wife and I always get a villa there. All the benefits of the campground but we have a nice villa to stay in. Plus it's right on the beach. I must say I love Myrtle as much as I do Disney. :lookaroun
If anyone wants to PM me to discuss things to do or places to eat there feel free.

Love Barefoot and also Broadway! Where do you guys eat? We always hit Drunken Jack's, Lee's Inlet Kitchen, and The Sea Captain's House.

Ah lets see Rivercity Cafe, great wings and yummy drinks!! Pink Flamingo which is a little after barefoot Landing is great, it has a Sister restaurant Cagney's, yeah not so much....tried Margaritaville at Broadway, that was a fun place with Fabulous food! Joe's Crab Shack great as well...We also have to hit a Calabash while we're down there , I think its Benjamins we usually go to. But there are soooo many there its insane!

God thinkin about MB makes me wanna go back again, such a great place!

Yeah I've been to Myrtle Beach a few times as well. It's really nice but a tad too far (for us) considering what it offers. Other beaches nearby are similar enough and half the trip.

Besides Disney World?

The Wisconsin Dells during the winter months, best indoor waterparks anywhere.

Hawaii, will go later this year to experience Aulani first hand.

Disneyland, have not gone in a while...

Jimmy Thick-Yes, there is life beyond Disney...

Thanks for all the feedback. It's good to see so many people visiting other places. I now have some new vacationing ideas in case we ever decide to go somewhere else (don't worry - in addition to, not instead of Disney). :)

I've only ever been one one family vacation where I didn't go to Disney... and that was when my dad's whole side of the family rented a 3-story cabin in Gatlinburg, TN.

I've been to San Antonio (for dad's basic training graduation), and Quebec... then I live in Delaware, so day trips to DC, Six Flags, Hershey, Dorney Park. But those hardly count as vacations.
