When you're at WDW, and you wake up....

We feel that way about AK. We used to force oursleves to go there every trip, but we got over the "you must do all four parks while at WDW" mentality and realized our time at WDW is precious....so we spend it doing things we really want to do.
So now we do not include AK in our plans. And if we ever change our mind, we know where it is.:D

I honestly believe it has to do with how often you are able to go to the parks. I have been 6 times. The last was in 2004. I like all the parks and the last time I was there I enjoyed Star Tours, and Muppets, as well as One Man's Dream. It is a different park with a different feel but I am still excited just to be there.

They have these tickets now that let you leave a park and go to another one in the same day. Maybe your family should look into those. :lookaroun

It's nice that a WDW novice like Laura has a seasoned pro like you to point these things out

I love the studios for half a day too  My kids are too old for the playhouse disney stuff, and they don't particularly care for the other stuff so much. Well, the two oldest LOVE RnR, but nobody but me LOVES ToT  So we're kinda stuck without much to do there most of the time. And it's not like the MK or Epcot where I'd be perfectly happy to just hang out, sit, and people watch for long.

We enjoy DHS and DAK, but they are definately 1/2 day parks for us. If there is other people with us that don't go as often as us and want to stay the full day, we will, but I admit that I get bored. My son is 2 and he loves animal, so he likes DAK, but we do the safari ride and that's usually it. We did the Lion King for the first time this past Jan. and I really liked it. I can't believe we didn't discover it sooner!

I get what you are trying to say. I get the same feeling when we go to any park except MK. Don't get me wrong they are all wonderful but there is just something about MK to me. Maybe it is the history of it. Not sure.

Actually I feel like on our last trip we didn't spend enough time at DHS. My 8 yr old is trying to convince us we need to go ride TOT at least once a day with the 5 yr old saying he refuses to ride it again!

I get that feeling more when it is Epcot day. Epcot is good an all but Do I really want to think on vacation!:brick::ROFLOL: I would rather get lost in the magic of everything.

Granted every day at any of the parks is a good day but I like certain parks more then others:eek:

When I'm at WDW, and I wake up, I think "HOLYCRAPIMATDISNEYWORLD" regardless of what park I am going to :ROFLOL:

Couldn't have said it better myself. :ROFLOL:

And to the Op, if you're that "Unexcited" about those parks, ride what you like & go to Magic Kingdom / EPCOT right after. Don't stay where you're unhappy. Last time I checked, no one forces you to go where you don't want to. :lookaroun Not being sarcastic or anything, just an observation. Do what makes you :D.

I love going to DHS

DHS is my 2nd favorite park after the MK (except when the Food & Wine Festival is going on-Great food and drink gets extra bonus points for EPCOT ).

I love the feel of the park. Yes some rides/attractions can go or be updated, but honestly I can say that about any of the parks.
I think I like DHS and the MK most because there is so much "fantasy" involved with the parks, where EPCOT and DAK are more "reality".

Plus I love the Muppets, Toy Story (can't wait for TSM) and other Pixar movies. ToT is may favorite ride (not the drop but the whole feeling I get when I walk up to the bellcap (SPOOKY :lookaroun)
And every time I see Fantasmic I am amazed. And I get giddy when I see all the characters at the end-what a great way to end a day at the park.

Animal Kingdom is mine...

Mind you, we've only been once before, so to us everything is new. I'm sure it's a completely different experience if you go regularly.

We really loved the Studios when we went there...and at that time my older son was just 4 so we didn't do any of the adult rides. In fact, I'd only set aside half a day for that park, so on our last day we went back there for the time we had prior to the trip home.

This time I've planned a full day for it, a day and a half each for Epcot and MK, and half a day for Animal Kingdom. The other half of the AK day will be spent either at DTD or just hanging out by the pool vegging. On our last day we'll have about half a day. I didn't buy park tickets for that day, but I think I'll add them during our trip.

We can use the last morning to either ride Buzz marathon-style (lol) or head back to the park we wished we'd had a little more time at. I doubt it will be the Studios, but my boys are Star Wars fans, so you never know!

The day I'm going to DHS is usually the day I sleep in.

Seriously, I go to the Studios for only a few things:

-It All Started with Walt
-Sid Cuenda's
-Tower of Terror
-Rock N Roller Coaster

Mayyyyyyybe the muppets and movie ride.

Sometimes I think I could skip it altogether but Rock N Roller Coaster is my 3rd favorite ride (after Everest and Soarin') just in an inconvenient location.

I understand how you feel, Laura. I am not crazy for Epcot and DHS. I get that bored, 'let's go NOW' feeling after an hour or so. I LOVE MK and AK. We actually skipped Epcot last visit. I am happy regardless of what park I am in, but I would much rather be at MK than all others! Different strokes for different folks. That's what makes this board so cool!

In my best Molly Shannon, and I'm a guy ("Saturday Night Live"), "I Luv't, I Luv't, I Luv't" Doesn't matter which park.

You feel equally giddy knowing you'll be looking at a Sorcerer Mickey pin trading station all day rather than a castle?:lookaroun

I don't really look at either of them "all day" except perhaps for new picture angles.

I can definitely see what you're getting at, but I've just found that appreciating each park for what it has to offer always works. I love brilliantly themed rides; I love equally huge coasters et al...

Now, that having been said, I do like Epcot a good deal better than the Studios as a whole. ;)
