That's Awesome! We really love the drive. The kids really make driving down part of the magic. We're driving on our February trip this year too. We used to drive it every summer, but for the past 7 years we've flown in February instead.
Here's hoping the weather cooperates!
SO TRUE!
1) I live 10 minutes from a Florida Welcome Station complete with the same 13 foot gator signs.
2) I applied for a job at Cafe Risque when I was 17. (Don't ask...:lookaroun )
3) Everyone I know would go to Cracker Barrel at the drop of a hat. Sometimes we will just go there to shop.
Being a redneck is so totally great!
Evidently your feet were just TOO clean for employment in this place! I say this because Cafe Risque is less than 20 miles from our town and gets its share of grief from the locals. I'm thankful you were turned down for whatever reason! :sohappy:
We also have a local Cracker Barrel and S-O often I am tempted to just walk through the dining room there asking, "returning from Disney or heading that way?"
Let's just say the interview process didn't go well! :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: $1200/week sounds great up to a point.
Wow!! I am impressed. Being from just south of you in Lacey, I don't know anyone who has made it in less than 20 hours. How fast were you guys going? I want directions from you!:animwink: We always fly, but 15 hours I might consider the drive. We made a new tradition the last time we drove and we plan on doing it again...Burger King at the Daytona exit. Just a last stretch of the legs, a cup of coffee and preparing for that EXTREMELY long drive down I4. My husband drives straight thru from NJ to FL...no overnight, no nap. One year we made it in 15 hours. He is still trying to beat the record.
We have no real traditions, because my husband won't stop.:brick:
We also did it in less than 20 hours but, 15 hours, man you must have been flying!Wow!! I am impressed. Being from just south of you in Lacey, I don't know anyone who has made it in less than 20 hours. How fast were you guys going? I want directions from you!:animwink: We always fly, but 15 hours I might consider the drive.
I kinda have to drive...you know 45 min on the road would be like 10 min in air and in all reality is that worht $100 bucks...nope...and whether or not such a flight even exists I don't know....:lookaroun
We usually stop for gas or Zaxby's. Zaxby's is a chicken joint that serves AWESOME chicken strips. I went through a phase after my dad passed away that I wanted Cracker Barrell anytime we were on the road. Which for a while was every weekend for 3 months. Now we stop in St Augustine at the Beall's outlet. They got a Disney Outlet there. They also have a decent knife store. Well it's okay, not good, not bad. On the other side of the exit is a Prime Outlet and Cracker Barrell. Also the next exit down on 95 there is another strip club/truck stop. It's no Cafe Risque.
The Isle of Capri Casino in Biloxi Mississippi. I'm a firm believer in supporting the tax base of our good neighbors to the east.
