When rules don't apply to others; I want to hear your stories

Ruined is about the only word I can think of to describe any of the Starbucks at Disney, the main street bakery used to me one of my favorite places, now I don't even like to go into the crystal shop because of the nasty Starbucks smell.

I will, begrudgingly, accept Starbucks in Future World. It's based out of Seattle, and a host of comic books and pen & paper rpgs have reinforced the idea of Seattle as a high tech city of the future.

I don't know, I think Disney was smart with adding Starbucks.. always has a long line, at least when I've been there. To me it's not much different than the candy shop which is also similar to any candy shop..Starbucks still carries Disney themed items and WDW.

Most importantly- They dot the "i" in your name with a Mickey head.. that's enough Disney for me :)
It just ruins the whole feel of mainstreet . I do not understand everyones obsession with Starbucks it is so disgusting, and why on earth would you pay 5 bucks for a stupid cup of coffee ?

Starbucks smells amazing.

To respond to the actual THREAD, I don't recall ever seeing much rule breaking. I accidentally broke one on Haunted Mansion. We were in the Stretching Room and I wanted to take a photo, but my stupid iPhone turned the auto flash on. I noticed quick enough and put my hand over it and aimed my phone downwards, (so I got a nice blurry skin photo) and gasped and said "OH NO I DIDN'T MEAN TO USE THE FLASH I'M SO SORRY EVERYONE!" and my husband made a point of making fun of me for being such an ***, so everyone laughed. I was too afraid to take my phone out after that LOL.

As for all the "rule breaking" I see people complaining about that seems to just be a lot of people forgoing manners and common courtesy, I didn't see much of that on my last trip. I'm sure it happened, but I was SO happy because it was my first trip in 7 years, and I was just in a happy bubble (it was also my honeymoon.) My husband jokes that he's only ever seen "Friendly Meg" at Disney, because he had never seen me so friendly and social before, lol. I was so "Disney high" that I probably filtered out any people I saw acting like jerks. I definitely was not going to let anything ruin my Disney days.
Nothing that has me in the restroom puking from the smell smells amazing.

Exactly. It ruins it for the rest of us. And when they get off the ride, they have a crappy picture anyway.
At least they have something to take a picture of. We were in line for POC, and this women in front of us kept stopping every 2 seconds to take pictures. When she took a picture of the wall , just a blank wall, no people in front of the wall, just a wall, no props just wall, my daughter lost it and yells seriously the wall?

Think for yourselfer
It's always surprised me that WDW allows children to sit AT the bar, something that is illegal in many states.
It's crazy. Forget the legal aspects, sitting your kid at a bar is a strange move. And really, quite disrespectful to the other patrons. We were out at a busy restaurant/bar down the shore at the beginning of July, and rather then wait for a table like normal humans, this couple sat with their INFANT at the bar. The baby spent some of the time ON THE BAR. Essentially the entire place was staring at them with reactions ranging from shocked to disgusted. Some people....

I actually had a guy give me a hard time about stopping. I was coming out of the gift shop at Star Tours. My family was leaning against the wall off to the side. I cam out about 10 feet, stopped, and turned to talk to them when I realized where they were. I was literally the only person there. Some guy comes out of the gift shop and starts giving me a hard time about blocking the area. I really wasn't in anyone's way and there was lots and lots of room around me. I just stood there and gave him a what are YOU going to do about it look.

I don't like chocolate..
I don't understand why people drink soda several times per day.
I definitely don't understand when people add salt to food that was served to them.
What's gross to one can be delicious to another.

You spend your $5 on a pastry that I won't touch, I'll spend my $5 on a delicious caffeine drink that you won't touch. We'll both survive even though the other is doing something different. :)

This is so true the line I always use is "that's why the ice cream parlor has so many different flavors... cuz we're all different ! "

Not to mention, I definitely don't think it sticks out. It blends in just fine IMO. We walked by it multiple times when we were looking for it, because it blended in so well, haha. And it doesn't look like w "regular Starbucks" inside either. It definitely has the "old time feel" that other places on Main Street do.

I figured it out once. It cost about 20 cents to make a cup of coffee. Me, I like plain black coffee and Starbucks is just too strong for me. I also would not spend $5 on a pastry either.

I get it, Starbucks peeps are stupid for their coffee spending.. I don't totally disagree.

I just don't understand these types of arguments though. Example- you can make a meal at home cheaper than you can eat at a restaurant, even fast food..same with pizza. Or people who use vending machines for soda or snacks etc at work. Different people have different things that they spend their money on..

I always chuckle though and wonder if all of the Starbucks haters never use a vending machine, never drive thru a fast food restaurant, never eat out period, and never buy junk food at the grocery store.

Until an automobile manufacturer starts adding some kind of Keurig to a car, then drive thru Starbucks are needed when running errands, going to games, etc etc etc ;)
