I don't know, i just didn't think it was professional (Though im understanding) of her to start freaking out and inform all the (paying) guest on tour of potential consequences in her employment she could be facing.

Sorry if any of my posts where seen as offensive.
It wasn't seen as offensive, but, I might point out that it also wasn't unprofessional. To take the opportunity to let people know that there may be serious consequences happening to other innocent people when we decide that we are better then everyone else and can do exactly whatever we want. People need that education, so I cannot fault the CM on that. She was only telling the truth. That is was possible that something bad could happen and it was her responsibility to keep everyone safe. If nothing happened to them, then nothing will happen to her, but, to let people know that there are results to their actions, is probably overdue.

Nah, she actually stayed cool like a cucumber...like the ones we were chowing down on while she informed her boss that a family has gone missing. I get where it could have looked unprofessional, but she actually was very professional about it. That and we were the ones who directly asked her if she was going to get into trouble. A family walking around a ride area (that is normally off limits unless it is a tour) is a hazard waiting to happen.

It did start out as a neighborhood coffee shop after all. Why not offer good coffee to people that want it? By that logic Edy's shouldn't be sold at WDW..or anything by Dole...or Coca Cola..or Werther's.. or half of the souvenirs that could also be purchased online or in your hometown.

I think the difference, it seems to me at least, is that Starbucks doesn't blend in. It wants to stand out. It seems to me that in the past there were sponsored areas but they tried to fit the theme of wherever they were at. There is Club Cool in Epcot but it has international sodas--kind of fits the theme of the park. Aloha Isle offers Dole products but stays within the theme of the land where it is located. Werthers is at Karamell-Kuche which blends into the pavilion as a German caramel shop.
It isn't a Starbucks sponsored coffee shop. It is a full fledged Starbucks. Same drinks, food, and counters.
On the inside it looks like a Starbucks like we have on every other corner in every town plunked down in the middle of Main Street USA.
It is just my opinion, but to me, it isn't good show.

I don't know, I think Disney was smart with adding Starbucks.. always has a long line, at least when I've been there. To me it's not much different than the candy shop which is also similar to any candy shop..Starbucks still carries Disney themed items and WDW.

Most importantly- They dot the "i" in your name with a Mickey head.. that's enough Disney for me :)

Just looking for clarification here. We rarely take Disney buses. The last time we did, Disney policy for people in ECVs was to pull up to the front of a bus queue and be loaded onto the empty bus first, with their guests, before anyone else was allowed to board, no matter how long they had been standing and waiting. Are you saying that is no longer policy and ECV riders have to wait in line with everyone else?
We don't have a problem with waiting. Yes it can be aggravating, when you already have a long day. In this particular situation, the bus already had pulled up. Everyone already started boarding when the ECV "Zoomed" up. The Bus driver was already being accommodating in getting them another transport. I don't know what the particular protocol is, but I would assume when the driver is pulling up and doesn't see the ECV already their, to load walk ons. The real rule breaker was the ECV person cursing the driver and the us on the bus. I know my ten year old daughter didn't need to hear her curse.

...what exactly is the positive about being irritated by something that we both agreed that we might have done ourselves.

Look, I'm not gonna start calling you names, nor am I going to insist that I'm right and you're wrong. We simply have a difference of opinion. I will always be irritated by groups stopping in the middle of a crowded walkway. I won't lose any sleep over it, nor will it ruin my day. But it's an annoyance, one that could be stopped by people having a little more sense of their surroundings.

Moving on . . .

*I* broke the rules once when there was no one in live for the people mover, but they had the massive chain queue up. I slipped under one of the chains and a CM scolded me so loudly. "What if a family started from the back where you're SUPPOSED to come in?! You would have cut in front of all of them! You should be ashamed of yourself. You're an adult!!!!" Needless to say, I literally never even think about doing that now, hahaha.

The proper response: "I looked -- there was NOBODY in the queue."

At least those other places did not ruin an iconic place and don't have that nasty aroma of Starbucks, sorry there is just no place for Starbucks in Disney.

What's the nasty aroma? I've never smelled that? I smell sweet pastry smells & coffee smells when I go in there. I think Starbucks is a good addition but I can see why some don't like that it took over the bakery.

That sounds very much like a personal opinion.. one that you could find agreement and disagreement with. Millions of people do enjoy that smell.

Starbucks smells amazing.

To respond to the actual THREAD, I don't recall ever seeing much rule breaking. I accidentally broke one on Haunted Mansion. We were in the Stretching Room and I wanted to take a photo, but my stupid iPhone turned the auto flash on. I noticed quick enough and put my hand over it and aimed my phone downwards, (so I got a nice blurry skin photo) and gasped and said "OH NO I DIDN'T MEAN TO USE THE FLASH I'M SO SORRY EVERYONE!" and my husband made a point of making fun of me for being such an , so everyone laughed. I was too afraid to take my phone out after that LOL.

As for all the "rule breaking" I see people complaining about that seems to just be a lot of people forgoing manners and common courtesy, I didn't see much of that on my last trip. I'm sure it happened, but I was SO happy because it was my first trip in 7 years, and I was just in a happy bubble (it was also my honeymoon.) My husband jokes that he's only ever seen "Friendly Meg" at Disney, because he had never seen me so friendly and social before, lol. I was so "Disney high" that I probably filtered out any people I saw acting like jerks. I definitely was not going to let anything ruin my Disney days.

Another make believe problem. Even if they hold up the line... it's just a line and will catch up before it is time to get on. In other words, you don't get on one second sooner because they "kept up" in the queue. It is frustrating and I find it that as well, but, then I just repeat to myself the words that I just used and save myself some ulcers.

I grant that it is "make believe" to the extent you will enter HM and experience the ride. It doesn't mean, however, that guests in front of you shouldn't be observant and keep moving. It's called awareness and courtesy.

I agree. But I don't see that as "breaking rules," just not using their brains.

The funniest thing to me about people who blast flash pictures on dark rides is that they are blatantly displaying that they know nothing about photography and didn't bother to learn any of the functions on their camera.

Exactly. It ruins it for the rest of us. And when they get off the ride, they have a crappy picture anyway.
