When rules don't apply to others; I want to hear your stories

Ha! Nah, is all good. I like coffee talk.

To add actually, I like both homemade and Starbucks. In the mornings, I use the old style brew and make a full pot every morning. If I am out and about and get a craving for coffee, I usually go for Starbucks. I'll get coffee in restaurants, hotels, etc. I just like coffee (except work coffee, I am not sure what that stuff is made of but that isn't coffee).

I am just wondering where this thread went from rule breaking to talking about coffee. (Maybe I should edit the thread title).

Starbucks apparent inappropriateness in a Disney Park as "rule breaking". Because they're overpriced.. but a Mickey Bar isn't. ;)

Lol, I was gonna comment earlier about this but forgot...

The drink I order (grande black iced tea lemonade sweetened - woah! not coffee!) is only $3.65.
Things more expensive than my Starbucks drink: Mickey Premium Bar, water bottle, QS meal, pretzel, ice cream cones, etc. You see where I'm going with this ;)

Actually, a little coffee side story: We were at T-Rex in Disney Springs and I got a coffee to go with my dinner. The waiter asked me how was the coffee, and I said it tasted good. He looked at me surprised and said "Really?! That stuff is awful, than again it is my 'work' coffee."

This is why I brought my own mini Keurig to the office.lol
You're correct about work coffee!

Ikr! What is up with work coffee? I've had bad hotel coffee before that didn't taste as bad as work coffee.

It's the water!!! Same reason I'm scared of gas station coffee. I keep a Brita filtered container at work to use in my Keurig. I won't touch the coffee here.

Well, since coffee talk has apparently been deemed appropriate I'll just say that Starbucks and Keurig are probably two of the biggest scams ever pulled on consumers :arghh:

You didn't add Teavana to that.. which is now technically Starbucks.
There are a lot of people who like good coffee roasts and teas. All of these things are a blessing, and a curse. We could say the same about iPads.. Apple Watch..etc etc etc.

I'll say this and then not go off topic again..

Starbucks has always closed their stores for employee training, sacrificing a lot of profit.. but their training appears to produce great results. Starbucks baristas are personable, funny, and most importantly- make your coffee exactly the same every single time you order it no matter what location, or in what city, or in what country you are in at the time.
This is why I pay $5.25+ for a cup of coffee.

I can go to Dunkin Donuts and spend @ $1 less, but half the time my coffee will have too much milk or just not taste the same as the one I ordered- from the same exact store- the day before.

Dunkin Donuts has a uniform way of making coffee, because it's all machines. So if you want a small coffee with cream and sugar, it's 2 creams, 2 sugars. There is a machine for both, all you do is press a button for each serving (there's a button for small, medium, large, etc.) and it's standard at all stores. However, they train their crew while working, which Starbucks also does. And it's also interpretation. I order extra cream, or light, which can sometimes be left up to how the person making it interprets it.

So, ummm, can you make DD employees aware of this please? My lattes are never uniform at any DD location! Lol
Aren't Keurigs kinda wasteful with the cup designs? Or did they make them environmentally friendly?

I'm a coffee addict, a serious one. It's the only calories that I drink. My lineup consists of a bad azz coffee maker at home.. I can foam, steam milk, etc etc.. also a French press and a Verismo at home, mini Keurig at work. I rarely use the French press or Verismo now that my coffee maker can make single cups and is a lot less work to clean than my last 'bad azz' one..but both the Verismo and Keurig have reusable pods.. sometimes I'm lazy and will buy the normal ones at Starbucks when on sale though.

You don't have to make a whole pot :)

They actually have a "variable" setting - it will only make as much coffee as the amount of water you put in. Amazing technology.
Yes I'm fully aware of how to operate a coffee pot, I'm not a moron.

I also don't like to wait. Coffee pots take too long. My Keurig is way faster than my husband's regular coffee pot.
