Hi All!

Just returned from a fabulous trip! I'm so depressed I have to go back to the real world tomorrow. :brick:

Anyway, I wanted to ask when the best time to visit Disney would be with a teenager who is in the 11th grade? I am planning to go back in 2011 and didn't want him to miss a week of school like he did on this last trip. Any suggestions would be fantastic! Also, is it better to go Saturday to Saturday or leave Friday after he gets out of school and come back on Sunday?

Thanks and Have a Magical Day!

It all depends on what the school schedule is by you. Are you trying to avoid crowds? One of the best times of year are Sept and some of January if you are trying to avoid major crowds. But the last week of August can also be lighter. Otherwise the day school is over for the year go that week. Just my thoughts.

Agree with the last week of August. We went during that stretch and the first few days of September this year and it was pretty dead.. which was fabulous, because we walked on pretty much everything (exception being TSMM and the like).

See I would think that the last week in Aug. would be crazy since most schools do not return till after labor Day, like ours.

I am pretty sure almost all of the schools in the country with the exception of the north east go back before labor day. Even most of the northeast is starting to go back before labor day. I know a lot of southern states begin to go back mid august. But to the OP if you live in the north east and your teenager does not start until sept I would say last week of august. Maybe you will even get free dinning.

I have decided to go March 5-12, 2011. This way my nephew only misses two days of school thanks to Mardi Gras. I hope it's not too busy since President's Day is in February. Any Louisianians been during Mardi Gras?!

We like going in Sept right after Labor Day. That is when our anniversary is and the crowds are next to nothing. We don't have any kids niw so it works for us. The weather is usually good although we have gotten lucky and had a few hurricanes just miss us.
