What's your tradition?

I was just curious to hear about other people's Disney World Traditions.

For example, an arrival tradition that my fiance and I have is: We take an early flight (usually around 7AM), upon our arrival, we hop on the Disney's Magical Express, check in at our resort and head right for the Magic Kingdom. Once we're there (usually around 11:30AM) we head right to Casey's Corner for the most delicious hot dog I've ever tasted, and then finally head on over the "The Wildest Ride In The Wilderness!" BTMM!

I wouldn't say we have traditions, but that we have favorites.

We always ride Pirates first on the first day we go to MK.

We always take a day in the middle of our trip and NOT plan anything. It's nice to know that there is one day that you can sleep in. We usually head to DTD and spend some nice QT at the pool.

And we also have certain spots where we take family pictures &/or pictures of the kids.

Ours is simple, arrive at WDW and head to the Magic Kingdom. First stop is"It's a Small World", after which I have that song stuck in my head for a week then the Haunted Mansion. Dinner the first night has to be one of two places either Germany in Epcot or The Liberty Tree Tavern

Well, its something we really don't do on purpose but I consider it a tradition. The joke is that my father always spills coffee on himself at some point on our 14 hour drive to FL. In fact, it's not a true Family Disney vacation unless he does it! One year, we all took a plane instead and he didn't have any coffee during the flight. We were kind of sad because it didn't feel the same. We were pleasantly surprised when we sat down to lunch at the WL food court and he managed to knock his coffee mug over. Tradition lives on!

One tradition my family has is eating dinner at the Columbia harbor house in MK and sitting on the second floor over the walkway between small world and haunted mansion. Nothing like a nice place to people watch and rest after a fun day to recharge a little and finish the night riding more rides or getting a good spot for fireworks or the parade.

One thing I would say is a tradition...

My wife and I honeymooned and have spent every anniversary in WDW. We always go to Tony's Town Square in the MK for dinner on our actual anniversary. Oddly enough we've sat in the same table every time.

Not by request, just Disney Magic I guess!!

Two must do's...

1. The wife must have a Dole Whip, and Mickey Ice Cream.
2. I must have Mickey Shortbread while waiting for Spectromagic.

We always have dinner at Chef Mickey's on our first night. Also, we always hit MK when it opens and head straight for Buzz. We ride it about four times before heading over to Fantasyland.

We always visit MK on day 1 and the last day. We always do 2 days at the main parks then 1 at a water park and repeat. No very interesting but there it is.

We will get to WDW tomorrow afternoon around 3PM. We will check into the BC, settle into the room and then go downstairs to to Beaches and Cream. Always the same routine. I can't wait until tomorrow afternoon.

On our first full day, we always have breakfast pastries from Main St bakery, and sit at the little white tables near the Plaza, people watching and being happy to be there; then later, lunch at Pecos Bills before POTC. :sohappy:

Our tradition is we never go to a park the day we arrive. We check in, spend time at the pool, then head to the Contemporary for dinner at California Grill, and wrap up the night with a stroll around Downtown Disney.

We also don't go to parks on the first day of our trip. I like to be at parks at rope drop, and coming in midway through the day just isn't the same for me. So our tradition is to head to the Polynesian on our first night - we think it's the most Disney vibed hotel. We eat dinner at Kona or Ohana, and then watch the water pageant & Wishes from the Poly beach. It's a great way to start off a trip! :)

MK is always the first park we visit and when we enter , we head straight up Main St. and head left to Adventureland where we immediately get a Fastpass for Splash Mountain then go back and get on POTC. Its always been that way.:)

WOW! Dittio on that! All of it. Early flight, Magical Express, check-in, straight to MK and first stop after soaking up the atmosphere on Main St. is Casey's for lunch!!!

Then we do Chef Mickey's for dinner to really start the trip off with a bang!!! (actually did this last trip and it's the plan for the next one so I'm not sure that counts as tradition yet...but I don't see us changing it :) )
