What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

>>This week, long after the reservation embargo, the park is empty. Well, empty for Disneyland.

That’s right — if you visit Disneyland right this minute, you’ll find a scene out of your theme park dreams: Pulling up to your favorite ride and hopping right on with little to no wait. It’s even being called a “ghost town” by some visitors.<<
I have family there right now. They're having a blast. :D

I’m sure Disney is loving the articles calling the park a ghost town.

Can you even imagine the waves of panic that must sweep through the Anaheim and Burbank cubicle farms and executive suites with each bit of bad news and viral YouTube scandal that turns up about Disneyland each week this summer?

I just want to send them one of those lovely summertime edible arrangements, and tell them it will all be okay... once Mr. Chapek leaves to spend more time with his family.

This is for you TDA! Have a Kiwi slice and a prune and buck up!

Does Chapek have an immediate family? Or maybe he can spend time with distant relatives?

Things have been quiet since the hiring freeze and "Close the Gap" cost cutting measures. I think they're just going to try to run out the summer and take the losses with the hope the holidays will boost them into a solid RotR launch. A lot is riding on WDW's successful launch of their version and Episode 9 being well received.

By the way, even more reshoots have been ordered for Star Wars Episode 9, and these again have been due to direct feedback from top Disney execs. These reshoots will not be finished until September, which is astonishingly close to release.

If they’re wrapping the first week of September, it ties with Spider-Man Homecoming reshoots in relation to their release dates. I believe Homecoming was a movie that didn’t have anything serious going on. They’re obviously on different levels but they’re both blockbusters

Was Spider-Man suffering from story backlash or did the director get fired?

...hmmm...six of one, half a dozen another? 😉

No that’s why I used Homecoming as an example to compare 9 with a properly functioning movie. It’s not completely out of the norm to be that close to release. Believe me, I’m not happy with Disney’s Star Wars 😆

I went to visit Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Black Spire Outpost on Batuu Land at the Disneyland Resort in California for the first time yesterday on a comp ticket and the park was not a Ghost Town. Healthy wait times throughout the day and a good amount of guests were still lounging around at 11:30pm. The Main Street livestock bypass was in use for Soundsational. Had my feet trampled by errant strollers. Radiator Springs Racers broke down twice in a half hour timespan and it remained shuttered until nightfall (heat issues?). Tale of the Lion King cancelled all performances after the first show due to technical difficulties yet the stage remained in place until WOC. Had to be evacuated from a 101’d Star Tours starspeeder. I was saddened by the poor condition of Splash Mountain...static AAs everywhere (especially evident in the Laughing Place) and even a completely fried looking Brer Frog. Happy 30th, Splash!
