I think you should be able to. That way, I know who to gang up on and follow around the park muttering nasty things at for the rest of the day.

Some digital cameras and camcorders don't have viewfinders.
With my camera there's no way to turn off the screen.

I don't use it when told not to. But I do use it when allowed. Some people on here were complaining about anyone using them in any dark rides, whether you're allowed to or not.

Well see I work for a major retail chain and I can tell you if we screamed at a guest (customer, LOL I hate the PCness of this world) we would get a coaching (verbal warning and write up) not to do it again. I agree that yes you shouldnt be taping on rides that say dont and yes I'm guilty of doing it on a few but Ive also noticed in the last 3 years a steady decline in CM friendlyness and manners towards the Guest. Truefully Ive seen a decline in alot of things at the parks and it worrys me alot to see it declining like it is. anyways thats my soapbox rant for today.
I am with you, for the most part.
However, a few years back I videotaped many of them-- not for myself, but to show my grandma, who was 80 years old, would have loved WDW more than anyone, but was not ever going to be able to go. I sent her the tape and within a few days received a very stern phone call: "I sat down to watch it for a few minutes, and before I knew it 2 hours had gone by and I got none of my cleaning done!"
:lol:Sadly, I was right-- she died earlier this year and never did get a chance to see any of it in person. But she did love that tape.

What's going on with the cast members and videotaping? Just got back from the world and cast members ....... me off about videotaping.
1. We went on Laugh floor and CM said FOR YOUR OWN SAFTEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No photography and/or videotaping. What's for your own saftey mean for videotaping?
2. Went on Stitch and CM shouted out to me in preshow 2, NO VIDEOTAPING. Then I heard her say, your welcome. Someone way far from me asked if she could tell me to stop videotaping! What's up with that? Who the HECK wanted me to stop (besides CM?)
3. Went on Dinosaur and NO CM told me to stop. The CM CAME ON THE LOUD SPEAKERS WHEN WE HIT THE FIRST CARNATOUROUS SHE SAID PUT THE CAMERA AWAY! Since when does a CM actually come over a loud speaker and say stop videotaping?
If any of these CMs' are recognizing me, you better give me a full apology! It's a shame that you don't stop the actual videophotographers on the websites.
Can anyone give me a full list of attractions that do not allow videotaping and ones that do, so that if a CM trys to stop me again I'll tell her about this!
There are signs everywhere throughout the attracations...and it's stated during the pre show if you cannot film or take pictures. If you're unsure, ask a CM first before getting lectured.
