Whats the first thing you do when you arrive at WDW?

We usually check in then decide which park or restaurant we want to visit first. Don't really have a set thing of "we always to to ...... first", we kind of play it by ear.

Usually arrive mid-afternoon (coming in from Canada sucks sometimes), take a 'blow' as my father calls it, and then hit the park that's open late. Food is usually low priority unless we're on the dining plan.

However, there's specifics that we do when we go to each park~

MK : Book it to Tomorrowland and do Buzz and Space Mountain
EPCOT : FP Soarin' (for Mom) and hit Test Track
AK : It was the Safari for awhile, but now usually head to Everest
HS : My favourite.. TOT. Except Toy Story was the first stop last trip.. it was just wrong.

When I arrive, I immediately head to my resort and check in. I then get refreshed and head to lunch (sometimes DD or in the resort food court). Then I head directly to MK!

On November 18, I will be doing the same but with lunch at The Plaza.

"Play it by ear" isn't in my vocabulary! Our itinerary is pretty much set in stone months before the vacation begins. As soon as our bags hit the room (if our room is ready), we change clothes and head out to our designated park for the day and probably have lunch. I think its wonderful that you are able to leave things open and casual. I'm envious! We would probably have a much more relaxed vacation if our schedule wasn't so structured.

Im with you. A lot of people tend to relax their 1st day so they can hit the parks early their 1st full day. NOT ME, I am planned down to the second every day of my trip. No need to sit around and relax, I am at Disney. LOL

Our UK flights always get in at around 3/4 I believe, so normally by the time we have got to the hotel its early evening. Usually get something to eat at the resort and then plan to go to Downtown Disney, for Disneyquest, normally we are too tired though so it doesn't always work out that way.

Our last two trips have been with a travel agency that charters a SW 727 to fly out of our local airport ( 10 minute drive for me ). We leave at 6:30am on a Sunday which means we are in MK by 10:00am. It's much better than flying out of Philly.

Check in, go to MK, ride Splash then eat lunch at Pecos Bill's. This time tomorrow I should be on Splash about right now. :animwink:

The last time I was there (August 09) was the first time I had a planned itinerary, but nevertheless, every time, we've gone directly down Main Street taking pictures at MK, then headed off to Splash. I think this time though when we got there, it was over an hour wait, so we changed course and hit POTC and JC.

I always take the 6:45 AM Continental flight out, which means I get to WDW by 11:30 on DME. Once I arrive, it's a quick lunch (usually at the hotel), then off to the designated park for the day!

Usually never get there in time to hit one of the parks. When we arrive, we get checked in, get our mugs and something to drink and do a little walking around the resort. Then we head off to Downtown Disney to grab some dinner and do a little bit of shopping and head back to the resort to get a little rest so we will be ready bright and early to hit Magic Kingdom on our first full day.

We used to fly out first thing in the morning, so we could be in a park by noon. However, a couple of years ago we started flying out after work the night before the planned start of our vacation. We stay at a cheaper hotel (off property, swan/dolphin, etc.) the first night and are fresh and ready to go when we check into our Disney resort bright and early the next morning. It has really worked out well.

I wonder does anyone head to the resort and go to sleep ? :ROFLOL:

We are those people. Coming in from the west coast, it takes a full day just to travel and we get into the hotel around 9p or 10p. One year we got in after midnight.

Our first evening is spent disinfecting the room and ironing our wrinkled clothes so we don't have to during the whole stay. Woo~Hoo right?

we are thinking of doing that next time down. Waking up early and getting to MK early is very cool - but hitting the ground running right away can leave you exauhsted after day 1.
