When we 1st started going to WDW, we would leave the night before our arrival and drive taking turns all night from the Wash. DC area. We would arrive at our resort 4/5pm the next afternoon. We would get checked in, then freashened up. Our 2 DD would be ready to go since sleep basically 15hrs, so we would head to a park that had the EMH for the night.

Now we take the auto train from VA that departs at 4pm and arrives in FL around 9am the next morning. We head to the resort to check in & just make it a relax day. Since we are usually there for at least 10days.

That is our plan for this yr. once we arrive we check in, check out resort & go to dinner to have the next day our bright & early for the rope drop @ the MK.

It's check in, hit the monorail for the ride to MK and Carosel of Progress and TTA for a good dose of "Old School" Disney, then it's on to whatever and after all the excitement wares off, maybe then I'll think of eating

Because I live so far from WDW, the travel to get there is a day in itself it rare that I would get the opportunity to check in and head to the park right away.

After a night of rest from travelling all day, MK is always first on the list. Get there nice and early to grab a locker, a few photos in front of the train station and to watch the opening show.

From there, straight to Space Mountain to ride and grab a fast pass. After that, no real plan, just go off and enjoy.

Well we drive so...

It's conservatively a 7 hour drive or so (took us 7 last year) - We usually leave around 9 a.m. and wind up at our resort at 3-4 p.m.

First thing - check in, got to room, feed kid if hungry, go to gift shop because God knows I need more souveniers (lol) and head to DT Disney where this year we will eat dinner at T Rex :sohappy:

I always want to head for MK. I can't wait to turn the corner on Main Street and see the castle. I've went to another park first once and I didn't like it as much.

Us too! I wouldn;t dream of going to another park until we hit MK! We usually start at JC and work our way around!

We usually get checked into WL somewhere between 1:00 pm & 3:00 pm depending on how early a flight we can get. We take the boat to MK, watch the 3:00 parade (if we're early enough), get dole whip and/or floats, eat dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern and end the night with Wishes. We don't do any specific attractions, just any that don't have a long wait times.

Pre-DVC, living 15 minutes from airport, pre 9/11: get 6:30am flight, arrive at resort by 11, check in, unpack (never experienced having to wait for a room), change out of our northern duds, be in a park by lunchtime. :sohappy:

Post-DVC, living 45 minutes from airport, post 9/11: get 11:30am flight, stop at supermarket for groceries, get to resort and check in at 4:30; unpack, change, then make our way over to Epcot for our dinner ADR...

It's never the same for us. One trip we did the Hoop De Doo on the day we arrived. One year we had flight delays due to weather and didn't get there in time to go anywhere but grab a bite at the resort.
Last year we were there by noon and bought our tickets, changed in a restroom, left our bags with the bellman and hit MK:) This year we are doing DTD Cirque the first night. But MK is always our first park.

We usually catch a late flight after we get off work on Friday (gotta start that Disney vacay as soon as possible!), so we normally don't get to our resort until 8:30 or 9pm. But does that stop us from hitting up the parks? Hell no! If any of the parks are open late we usually head there, but if not, we go to Downtown Disney and grab a heart-healthy sundae at Ghirardelli's:ROFLOL:

Usually never get there in time to hit one of the parks. When we arrive, we get checked in, get our mugs and something to drink and do a little walking around the resort. Then we head off to Downtown Disney to grab some dinner and do a little bit of shopping and head back to the resort to get a little rest so we will be ready bright and early to hit Magic Kingdom on our first full day.

This is what I do also. The rest and relaxation of walking around DTD is great. Makes me all the more excited to hit MK in the morning.

We always arrive one day before our vacation package occurs. We drive to our hotel around the 5:00PM time frame and then haggle to get our room at a discount and then hop on a bus and go to down town Disney and eat at the rainforrest cafe and go shopping. The next day our package starts and were off to EPCOT. We always go to Disney in mid September to Mid October time frame. This allows us to show up and get our room. 99.9% of the time we are allowed to just keep our room for the reaminder of our 8 to 10 day stay.

Check in, bags in the room and off to the parks!

Although this year I am taking a 6:30 AM flight and should be at the hotel by 10-11, so maybe some breakfast then right to whatever park feels good.

I always drop my bags at the hotel and off to the Magic Kingdom and breakfast at Crystal Palace...It doesn't get any better than this

I usually arrive at my resort about 2:30 p.m. or so (depending on the train traffic...I get to Orlando via Amtrak). After checking in, I head over to Downtown Disney for a bit of shopping.
