That's how I feel...
Gah! Can they just be sure before they say anything? Really, I don't think anybody making announcements should say much until land is cleared and the foundation is in at this rate. It has just been too much lately.

Agreed, but its not like this is anything new. I'm sure some of the old-timers around here remember the hype for the David Copperfield venue at Downtown Disney or the "Coming Soon- Israel!" sign in World Showcase. Not to mention the myriad of luxury hotels to be built around the lagoon.

In the case of Avatarland, I think this may have been a calculated risk on Iger's part. He probably sensed that Cameron was still sitting on the fence and figured he could pin him down by announcing it prematurely. How could he back out then? Unfortunately he gambled and lost, and his credibility will be hurt when the truth comes out. JMHO.

My hunch, Pandora, DHS Entertainment changes, possibly the long range vision for Pixar at DHS and DTD details.

Since you all have given up on "Spirited Change", I would remind you that I have been saying for years that once DCA 2.0 was complete TWDC would turn to Florida. It is how the business cycle works at WDW.

It helps immensely that the competition is investing heavily.

The tide has turned! :D

You are just not going to let that Pandora thing go are you?.....I tell you what, Pandora has as much chance as the AC opening....thats what!

Kidding and wild dreaming aside, I'm familiar enough with these "What's new, what's next" presentations to make a very educated guess what we'll see.

@ New SDMT details (probably more artwork or animation) I doubt they'd estimate an opening date, which would discourage earlier bookings.

@ New Cruise Line or Travel By Disney itineraries

@ Splitsville and maybe another minor DTD tenant

@ Resort enhancement (such as new suites or amenities, but not new DVC announcements)

I think that's all you should expect. It makes no strategic or financial sense for Disney to announce anything major that would distract from the FLE opening. They have all the time in the world to announce parades, DVC, DHS projects, etc.

Look at Uni. They have several projects under construction right now that have never been formally announced. They know its better for someone to pay $ and see Potter now and come back again later, rather than tell people "wait a year and you can see Potter AND Transformers!" (And just because the fan community is aware of Uni's projects doesn't mean most guests so)

It's really time they announce something for DTD. Tom Staggs noted over one year ago on the DPB (probably to curb some of the negative press on the blog itself about lack of anything major announced at last year's D23 presentation) that they were finalizing plans for DTD and there's definetely been talk from credible folks here (Steve) that something has been in the works. Whether they are ready to do announce the plan, I don't know.

I would also expect nothing too major...review SDMT, maybe next celebration, perhaps talk about new MK parade if it is really coming in early 2013 as rumored.

The only precedent for something of substance at these press events dates back to 2003 when the day(s) after the official opening of Mission:Space they officially announced construction for Soarin' and Lights, Motors Action (and reviewed details of Expedition Everest construction) during a What's new/What's next presentation...

I can't help but think nothing will come of DtD anytime soon. Like you said, Staggs promised an announcement in 'a few months' over a year ago. That really goes to show that plans can't be agreed upon, and it probably continues to get tabled at meetings in hopes that it will somehow magically work itself out. It must not be hurting TDO too much, given they have been sitting on it for years... Perhaps its just not worth it to them.

If theres money to be made TDO will go after it i am just confused why there haven't been any work to improve a potential goldmine in DTD

Probably because TDO is more interested in the project that they take the entire profit pie. They have made themselves basically just landlords with DtD now. They get a cut of what is actually made. From a management standpoint - I can only assume thats not a top priority when talking about having to front hundreds of millions of dollars....

I hope it is about DHS and DTD, But a New Daytime Parade, Return Of SpectroMagic, and Celebrate The Magic would make a nice entertainment promotion! :)

I haven't given up on Spirited Change and since you have no clue what it signifies, I don't see how you are capable of determining whether anyone has.

You are such a hoot, JT. That's what you are. You know I actually admit I thought about you when riding RSR's and Frank the combine comes after us for tractor-tipping. Really.

Some of your 'hunches' above are actually pretty accurate, though, so I'll be nice ... for now!

I think you'll certainly hear talk of DD, even if it's simply Splitsville ... although there is word that La Nouba isn't long for DD and one wonders whether a replacement show is forthcoming or simply another empty large facility.

Also, forgot to mention in other posts on the subject, but absolutely think Spectro will get plugged along with the new parade at this event.

Should also mention to guests that right now it looks like Dec. 3-7 will be the dates for the majority of media coming, so you shouldn't expect all attractions to be open to the general public and also expect parks to close early for media parties on two of those nights.
