It's the next phase of NextGen, you can schedule your snacks and bathroom breaks ahead of time. Disney will even be able to tell you how long it will take to "process" the cinnamon roll and coffee from Main Street Bakery you get at 9:15 am so it can be "returned" in the new Tangled theme restroom between 7:45pm and 8:15pm (late arrivals will not be accommodated).

People, Disney would NOT hold a press conference unless they have
found room for more benches, somewhere.

Expect benches, and lots of 'em.
Ooooooooooh! I was just saying the other day what the parks really really need is more benches! And scooter rentals...I don't think we can ever have enough of those. Maybe they'll even announce they are expanding the places people can park strollers too...we are already in stroller hell so what about a few more? ;)

Regardless of what they're going to announce it seems like a very calculated move to 1) keep the hype train rolling, and 2) stop Universal from announcing HP II or Transformers and stealing FLE's thunder.

It could very well be something we on this site have already speculated about...Poly reno, GF DVC, Carsland...or...it could be a great big bunch of nothing(which i'm thinking it isn't).

Personally, i'm hoping for Carsland. I know there was much debate over keeping it in DL but I know my kiddies (and hubby) would love it so....;)

Why would this stop universal from stealing FLE's thunder? They could announce what they are doing on December 8th and essentially tell the media: hey look Disney just announced that yea, the d ticket coaster that they already announced they we were building at the last "what's next" update...well that's great and all but guess what we've got? Transformers. An extremely well reviewed e ticket ride that will be here in May...yeah, we don't take years to build rides. Oh and also, Harry potter 2.0 is coming. It's going to have at least two e tickets, possibly another ride or two, just as immersive of a land as the first addition, oh yeah and more of that unique merchandise you all seem wild about. And guess what? There's more to come in the future... Take that mouse house. You keep on announcing minor things no one is going to get excited about and updates on stuff you already announced. how's that avatar project coming along?

Maybe it's just me but I think that would steal NFE thunder just fine.. Not saying that Uni will do this. Just saying this press conference is probably not intimidating to universal at all. Nor is NFE. It might have once but universal appears to finally be standing on its own just fine

Whats the over/under on Uni announcing HP2 on dec. 6th or 7th?

Wouldn't they try to keep HP2 unannounced until after Transformers opens (and potentially the Seuss addition as well?)? So last half of 2013/beginning/mid-2014 (if a 2015 opening) - of course, they probably wouldn't be able to hide it until then as you would be able to tell by the look of the area

I'm cautiously optimistic that they announce something large coming to the park along with dates. Market share is slowly skewing and people keep going for their butter beer. TDO needs to recognize the long term stability and profits of the organization need to be addressed. Cutting costs for one fiscal quarter to get a bonus doesn't do you any good if you drive away customers.

i loved butter beer....im a huge Disney fan but universal threw down with harry potter....thaT ride was wow...disney needs to respond in kind.

Similar "What's Next" presentations at Disneyland have been used for updates on things in progress and to announce small little things (e.g., tags to World of Color). In that vein, I would guess that the "What's Next?" part will be mainly 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, Maybe the Grand Floridan DVC will be discussed, and perhaps the restaurant upgrades (California Grill, for example). Perhaps we'll hear about new MK parade(s) and new DHS show(s). But I'd be surprised if there's a big announcement, because that would take the thunder away from all the stuff that just opened (FLE and new Test Track), which is where they want most of the press coverage.

Completely agree. "What's Next" the day after indicates that that want to let people know "...this is not the end." This more to the project and I agree they will discuss some of the other smaller projects that might not be as well known to the general public, but have been pretty widely discussed here and on other internet blogs.

For sure it will not be a big annoucement. Even if they were completely ready to make a big annoucement (and I'm not convinced they are yet), it would not be the day after a BIG event. They will already have their audience and the media will be discussing that. They would certainly wait a bit to space the "news" apart. Perhaps there will be some new annoucements made in conjunction with the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade. They have used that forum of late to release new promotions and new ideas. Let's face it, while I like watching the parade each year, it really is just one big advertisment.

My guess is:

7DMT
Princess Fairytale Hall
Tangled bathrooms
(All of the above basically saying "there's more to come in Fantasyland!")
New parade at MK
New shows (P&F and Tangled) at DHS

All relatively minor things that will be opening in relatively short order after December (except the Mine Train which will be a bit later) but to emphasize the idea that new stuff is on the way.

Carland/other DHS expansion stuff would be announced sometime next year.

I fully expect Transformers to be announced on one of those days. Think we'll still be waiting a while on HP2.

Not so sure. I agree one of them will be announced most likely, but after seeing how far vertical HP2 has gone when I was there Saturday night I'm not sure how much longer they can keep it unannounced.

Just throwing this out there... I just watched The Lone Ranger trailer and it looks pretty legit.

More FLE updates to include Pan Queue, Snow White, Tangled Meet and Greet, and Princess Hall Meet and Greet. They will not announce anything MAJOR the day after the most expensive addition in the resorts history opens to the public.
