Because Splitsville is a rather small chain. This location is the largest of five locations.

That... & it's a glorified bowling alley with food.

Don't get me wrong, love the addition as I am a weekly bowler. But this isn't going to excite too many vacationers. May hook some locals though which is cool.

I don't know what Disney's definition of "advanced audio animatronics" could be in this case. Maybe one or two figures will be more elaborate than the rest.

"Advanced animatronic" as in The Wardrobe or Lumiere in ETwB?? I dunno -- that's what I think of as "advanced." /shrug Maybe something like the Queen turning into the witch (with a bit more technology then the 180-degree turn-around figure on SWSA that occasionally did not work correctly). Just spitballin' here...... ;)

Um, because it's bowling? Who gives a rip? I can go bowling right here at home.
To be fair, the gimmick of Splitsville is everything else added onto it aside from the bowling. Something I can do at home, but I prefer the straight up bowling alleys. To those who do not have such facilities nearby (or are afraid to go because they're not a safe, Magical environment) I can understand the curiosity. But that doesn't change that being the largest is only impressive with the right context and the other Splitsvilles are apparently all rather undersized in order to sell the non-bowling amenities.

Neither have reached the cultural impact of the Simpsons, nor have either reached the highbrow level of humor the Simpsons was famous for in its heyday. You're comparing apples to oranges.

My point is I don't think being funny and animated necessarily qualifies something as good theme park land material.

I'm excited because its going to have a bar, a lot tvs, live music, and billiards. This is place is going to be a hit every weekend and for families who are taking a day off at the parks and are looking for something to do

Far as I know the AAs in 7DMR will be, at best, on par with the Ariel figures in LM.
More advanced than the old Snow White figures, but certainly not A100s.
Also, unless something has really changed, there will be no Queen/Witch character in the ride.

You're partially right. I hope FLE does well, but we'll just have to wait & see what this does for resort occupancy as a whole. That & this huge $ NextGen deal.

But in your opinion, what is WDW working on currently that has been announced? And no, IMO I still believe Avatar is not a 100% for sure deal.

These are my opinions, I don't expect everyone to agree... Epcot is fading with only a newly-opened, reimagined ride propping up any nod to "future" in Future World & new eateries in WS. DHS is a thematic Picasso painting. DAK doesn't even have its two main rides working at 100% show & has desperately needed expansion for the past 6 or 7 years. MK added things it needed & did it beautifully from what I can see (capacity & sit-down eating) however on the attraction side was very light & it will take them 5 years to build it to completion.

I see a lot of desparation in their marketing lately. The dragon thing will lure unfortunate guests to see nothing, even the TT opening ceremony video had a picture of FLE in the intro. Shouldn't it have something Epcot-y? I know it will turn around, it has to right? But here lately they are really stumbling around & tripping over everything it seems.

Again all opinions, I know nothing of inner-workings. Only what I see as a previous paying customer & through their online marketing through the blog & FB.

They're working on the mine train which I can't wait to experience as well as Avatarland which I do think we will see and should have at least two major attractions. I'm at the stage in my life where I don't necessarily measure my enjoyment in the parks by new e-tickets. Those are great, but unlike a lot of people on here, I have kids and understand that Disney does well to focus on them as well. My boys are going to love new fantasyland regardless of how many snarky comments are posted here, and that's what this board simply doesn't understand. They see a lack of Michael Bay movie motion simulator rides and call it a failure. To the average park guest, it's about so much more.

Yes, a nice distraction if you're fried from the parks. But certainly NOTHING to be
excited about.

TV's? Wow, cutting edge.

It's bowling. Lipstick on a pig, if you ask me. Whatever.

To you, maybe. But I'm willing to bet there are a ton of people that will line up for the chance of going to Moe's Bar for a beer.

Fair, but I pray to god disney never thinks something like "moe's bar" is a good idea for their theme parks.

I can go to a Disney store a few miles from my house. Guess I should stop in no shops. I could go to comedy clubs and bars a few miles from my house. Good thing PI was shut down!

Ok, I know it may just be me, but I don't understand the appeal of Cars Land. We had to get to the park when it opened, to wait in line at another location for 30 minutes to get the Fast Pass, for a ride with a return time of like 3:50. Come back to the park at 4:00 and wait in the Fast Pass line for another 40 minutes or so, in the hot sun, to ride a ride that seemed very similar to Test Track. Why does DHS need a Test Track? Overall the themeing was great, but the thought of spending that amount of money again on something WDW already has seems pretty crazy. I enjoyed Crush's Coaster ride in Paris more!

I guess they will make sure to avoid any scare potential as that seemed to be such a 'problem' with the old ride...

Serious question, why is it any different the Gaston's Tavern? For people who enjoy and have a connection to the Simpsons (and there are a lot of them) getting to go to a re-creation of Moe's tavern is just as exciting as a BatB fan getting to go to Gaston's Tavern.

All true. Pleasure Island is just a thing to do after hours. Back in "the day" when there was
the Adventurer's Club, and the nightly New Year's Eve celebration, it was a special place.
And as for comedy, the "Mickey-based" comedy was a nice counterpart to the parks as well.
It used to work as a compliment to the parks, now it's just shops and restaurants, very similar
to what you have in major cities everywhere.

I know, I know, Cirque, etc., but still.

And none of that changes my central point, which is, bowling, yawn.

Understandable, & I agree with you. I don't need any giant thrills but there needs to be some direction & some progress at WDW. They expanded MK for obvious reasons but I just hope they have plans for the other parks too. I'm fine with family dark rides, or small coasters, but when they take so long for Disney to build them it's frustrating. But they should at least have plans set & announced for such things if they are going to take so long. There are plenty of rides that just need spruced up & they won't even do that. But you're right in saying the average park guest doesn't see that type of stuff. I remember being one. Seeing "NEW!" on any of the park maps just justified my trip.

Bowling. Pool. Drinking. Sounds like a good way to unwind to me. I refuse to bowl at the immediate local alleys near me because they are junk. Splitlsville Va is about an hour and a half from my house. Odds are I will visit the WDW one more than the one here. I enjoy upper scale bowling and I prefer no where else but to do it at WDW during 21+ hours away from youngsters. Look at HoB and the concerts, I can see most of them here and down there. Has yet to stop me from doing one there. Some things like this are great to get away from curtain climbers.
