It's a smokescreen for the media. They say "DCA is doing great!" Which looks favorably on the company as a whole, which therefore appeases the stockholders. They hear DCA is doing well & look at all this "great" stuff MK just got! AND TT just re-opened? Everything is juuuuust dandy at Disney. Just make sure you shove those occupancy ratings for WDW under that HUGE area rug along with maintenance issues, quality downgrades on already existing merch, food, & rides, & the fact that UNI is constantly moving towards being a much better resort than in past years.

It, IMO, is no different than a magician's slight of hand. Look over here (DLR) while nothing of any interest is going on over here (WDW).

Nothing of interest to you, perhaps.

Meanwhile on the other side of town, Universal is full steam ahead on the recently announced Transformers (which is light speed by comparison to the snails pace of FLE) and the yet-to-be-announced Potter 2.0. When that gets announced...I'd love to see the inner halls of TDO. I'm sure there are bigwigs there completely oblivious to the goings-on outside of their desk.

Not to mention a Simpsons mini land, and a park wide beautification project.

Don't forget the also unannounced Springfield project which is also expected to be complete by this summer.

Probably didn't mention it because a Simpson's miniland isn't worth a mention. I can't even imagine something less appealing.

How about an area of the park that is fully themed to a bunch of streets and is only used 20% of the year...part of me would love to see Streets of America demolished for something of substance. Maybe a bigger snack cart? o_O

Personally, I'm not going to go bowling on my vacation. I can do that at home for cheaper. It looks like a very nice establishment though.

Unless it is open late, parks are closed and there is absolutely nothing else to do on property....nothing but bowling.

What a waste of money from Disney to bring all these bloggers in for the grand opening, and hold an event to announce what we already know was coming. Major wasted opportunity to announce something of substance, but that seems like a normal thing now for TDO.

You're partially right. I hope FLE does well, but we'll just have to wait & see what this does for resort occupancy as a whole. That & this huge $ NextGen deal.

But in your opinion, what is WDW working on currently that has been announced? And no, IMO I still believe Avatar is not a 100% for sure deal.

These are my opinions, I don't expect everyone to agree... Epcot is fading with only a newly-opened, reimagined ride propping up any nod to "future" in Future World & new eateries in WS. DHS is a thematic Picasso painting. DAK doesn't even have its two main rides working at 100% show & has desperately needed expansion for the past 6 or 7 years. MK added things it needed & did it beautifully from what I can see (capacity & sit-down eating) however on the attraction side was very light & it will take them 5 years to build it to completion.

I see a lot of desparation in their marketing lately. The dragon thing will lure unfortunate guests to see nothing, even the TT opening ceremony video had a picture of FLE in the intro. Shouldn't it have something Epcot-y? I know it will turn around, it has to right? But here lately they are really stumbling around & tripping over everything it seems.

Again all opinions, I know nothing of inner-workings. Only what I see as a previous paying customer & through their online marketing through the blog & FB.
