My husband is a total Disney nut. He has been to WDW approx 3 dozen times since it opened (he was 2 when he made his first trip). My father in law was the biggest Disney nut I have ever met, the man would have moved to main street if Disney would let him. Any way, Disney was never really my thing until I met them(went twice before I met my hubby, 1977family & 1986school trip) but then I met my hubby and eventually the fever was contagious!

Captain Hank

Mine started in high school marching band. My director asked if I had a nickname, and I said "no." Then he asked if he could call me "Hank," and I said "no." So, naturally, the nickname stuck! I actually came to like it after a year or so. Then, my marching band went to WDW, and while we were in the Studios my group of friends got picked to be in the Studio Tour Special Effects Water Tank. As I was a field commander for the marching band, the group nominated me to be the captain of the patrol boat. Just for fun, I gave my name as Hank, so, therefore, I was Captain Hank. The nickname has stuck so far into college, though some just call me the Cap'n.

Being one of the, uh, shall we say "more mature" members here, I remember growing up watching the various Disney shows on Sunday nights. Every now and then, they would show the Sorcerer's Apprentice segment from Fantasia. Even before I saw the whole film, I had already become enamored with Sorcerer Mickey. That has always been one of my favorite animated scenes, and I could always relate to poor Mickey's attempt to get out of doing his work, only to have his plan backfire on him.

Anyway, we were at MK in 2000, our first trip with the kids. While riding the Haunted Mansion, a very strange thing happened. As we rode through the graveyard scene, every now and then, one of the AA ghosts would look directly at me and say, "You'll never be as cute as Sorcerer Mickey." As you can imagine, this was quite discerning for me. It wasn't until at the very end of the graveyard, the raven said to me, "You'll never be as cute as Sorcerer Mickey. But you are a close second."

So, there you have it.

And I've never done drugs. Honest. Well, okay...the prescription stuff, but I always followed the directions. :lookaroun

I did the college program in 1985. Back then, the only parks were the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Center, so if you worked the Magic Kingdom, you were designated as an MKCP. I still have a windshield sticker for the place where they housed us and it says "MKCP 1985." One of these days, I'm going to clean it up, scan it and make it my avatar. :)

Where did you work? My wife and I visited WDW for the first time in September '85.
I missed you by a month, as back then there were three programs - January to May, June to August and September to December, and I worked the summer. If I'd still been there, you would surely have bought popcorn or ice cream from me! "Main Street North foods," my department, covered Coke Corner (now Casey's Corner), the bakery and ice cream parlor, the Plaza Pavilion and outdoor foods, which operated the outdoor ice cream carts and popcorn wagons all over the park. I rotated through them all, but outdoor foods IS the best. wdwprincess03 and Istcrew20 can vouch for that, I think!

**Sorry for the thread drift**
