Trip Report What's going on with my clothes??

The title.

It's what I've been having the hardest time with for the last week or so. I'm not totally sold on it but I must say that it did make for a lot of laughs(at my expense of course). When I think about how much energy I've channeled to coming up with something, especially when that energy could have been put to better use( like at work or something), I decided to stick with this & move forward. Otherwise, this TR would never get started. Anyways, welcome to my very first trip report!! I'm happy with myself for finally doing one & I'm more than excited to relive our adventures & share them with you fine people!!
So, let me start by getting the introductions out of the way......

WHEN: June 18th-25th *C,D,E & A's plans were a little different than ours. They were there 6/21-7/7*

TUESDAY, JUNE 19TH

Good morning from POR!! When I tell you that I could live here I seriously mean it!! I usually start my mornings by getting up pretty early(I'm used to doing it for work after all) and going out for a walk/jog around Port Orleans. I was excited to have a whole week of getting up early & enjoying the resort while it was still quiet. It makes it that much prettier!!
IMG_2686.jpg

You can't imagine how thankful & happy I am when I'm here. I think about it all the time during my walks.
IMG_2687.jpg

You can take the trail down to FQ which I like to do.
IMG_2688.jpg

Hello FQ!!
IMG_2689.jpg

Back at Riverside!
IMG_2690.jpg

IMG_2691.jpg

The view from our floor(our rooms were a few doors down). It was nice to be upgraded to a river view room. It may not sound like a big deal since there are no balconies there but it really does come in handy. The buildings are so big there & sometimes with a standard view room you have to make a ton of turns to get to your room. The last thing I want to do in the dark when I'm tired is go through a maze to get to my room.
IMG_2692.jpg

I don't have any photos but we stopped at The Riverside Mill before we went to HS. J couldn't wait to have some Mickey waffles. R had(like he did every morning of the trip) a banana(of course) & apples. I'm not sure what E had. A lot of times she'll eat what's on J's plate b/c he usually doesn't finish it. I am sure I am right when I say I didn't have anything. I'm really don't eat breakfast.(I know, shame on me--it's the most important meal of the day)

According to the time on my phone this picture was taken at 9:59. One advantage of leaving a bit later than park opening is that it is much easier to get on a bus at the South Depot at Riverside. During peak times it can be completely insane. If we don't go to The Riverside Mill in the morning we avoid the South Depot & take whichever one is closest to our room.

While waiting for the bus J found this pine cone & entertained himself with it. He liked it so much that we had to take it with us.
IMG_2693.jpg

At 10:30 we were headed in. Since R & J don't have bags we told them to go through the line for guests without bags & we would meet them inside. Well wouldn't you know it, J's fingerprint wasn't working. They had to reset it & told R he would have to use his right thumb now. The CM said that sometimes their fingers are so small that the scanner can't pick it up. There is usually more success with the thumb since they're bigger than the fingers. J couldn't wait to go on TSMM so he was so excited to go in with R. In his mind the quicker he got inside HS the quicker he would get to TSMM.
IMG_2695.jpg

I was pushing the stroller & as the security guard was checking it he commented "Nice pine cone you got there". I explained that J wouldn't let us put it back in the woods so we were stuck with it for now. The pine cone actually stayed in that stroller for the rest of the trip. He checked quite often to make sure it was still there.

When E & I got into HS we saw R & J waiting for us. I noticed Daisy was there with hardly any wait. R said he asked J if he wanted to meet her but he said no b/c he wanted to get to TSMM.

That would have to wait for a few b/c we had a few things to do first.

E went to get us Starbucks while R & I took J to see Cruz Ramirez.
IMG_2697.jpg

IMG_2698.jpg

IMG_2700.jpg

We went into One Man's Dream then(sorry, I'll always call it that).
IMG_2703.jpg

I love this photo they have in there!
IMG_2704.jpg

After touring around in there R said he wouldn't mind seeing the preview or whatever it's called for Incredibles 2. Secretly, I think he was looking for a way to get out of the heat since it was quite warm by this point. Anyhow, I really enjoyed the preview.
IMG_2705.jpg

E & I stopped to get a picture with this gentleman. R & J passed on the opportunity.

Why do I feel like I'm staring into the clouds?

We caught these guys while we were waiting for the next Frozen show.
IMG_2720.jpg

IMG_2721.jpg

I really enjoy this show!! It's so funny!!
IMG_2722.jpg

Lunch time!!
IMG_2724.jpg

IMG_2725.jpg

I had the Antipasto salad. It was really good & very refreshing for a hot summer day.
IMG_2726.jpg

R had the meat lovers pizza & enjoyed it. E had the gluten free pizza & really liked it.(Sorry--I forgot to take a pic of it).
IMG_2727.jpg

We all enjoyed our meals!! On a side note though--does anyone else think that it's odd to have a Fuel Rod station inside of the restaurant? Don't get me wrong--I've swapped out there but I kind of feel like it belongs more in a gift shop.

It was time for J's nap so R took him in the exit area of the ToT since it's cool & dark in there. We had FP's for RNRC & we just make them for the whole group even though J is too little to ride & R won't b/c he doesn't like rides that go upside down.

All that means is 2 rides for us!!!:)
IMG_3605.JPG

I think the young man in front of me is absolutely terrified!!

IMG_3606.JPG

I wouldn't be dropping in this visit & I wasn't bothered by it in the least. I prefer not to go on ToT but I will if someone in my party really wants to go on. Fortunately, neither R or E are fans of it either so I was in the clear!!

J was still sleeping after E & I returned from the concert so she walked with him through the stores. R & I decided to go use our FP's for the Indiana Jones show. I was glad for him to see it b/c the year before we didn't get to see the full show b/c it started raining & the last time he saw it before that had been 20 years before!!

First, a few PP pictures:
IMG_3603.JPG

IMG_3604.JPG

When we got there not only had the FP line been closed off but the CM told us that it was standing room only. That was alright with us though b/c we had plans to bolt out of there as soon as it was over. We were meeting E & J for the 4:00 BatB show and knew we would have to hurry. We sat down on the wall near the exit at the very back of the place & the nicest CM approached us & told us she had room for us 4 rows from the front. She was so happy to give us this great news but in mind I was thinking "No thanks. We were hoping for a quick exit". I felt like I really would have burst her bubble if I declined so we thanked her & she escorted us down.

What is up with the dude in the jeans & leather jacket in the 90 some degree heat?
IMG_2737.jpg

IMG_2738.jpg

I had to take another photo b/c I just couldn't get over it....
IMG_2739.jpg

IMG_2740.jpg

I was aiming for Indy this time, not Mr. Ready for Fall.
IMG_2741.jpg

As soon as the show was over we got right out of there. Now we were walking quickly as it was but I had to literally jump out of the way b/c a man on his scooter was coming at me full speed ahead. Crisis averted we made our way to BatB.

For once I didn't take a ton of pictures during the show!! And I even waited until the end for the two I did take.

A dude in a leather jacket and jeans! Yikes, I can imagine that would be hot! I remember looking at some people last week and wondering where they were from because they were dressed in jeans and sweatshirts in the middle of the afternoon and it was so hot! So I figured they must be from somewhere hotter than Florida to dress that way. Hubs and I figured they must live on the surface of the sun!:joyfull:

Enjoying your report. That is my absolutely worse thing that can happen anywhere. Happened to us once just shortly after the start of a nine hour flight. An adult sat behind us who appeared not to even make an attempt to get to toilet. I felt ill the rest of that flight :hungover:

I can't imagine not at least trying to get to a toilet or sink?! I got ill once on a transatlantic flight. As I felt it come on (very suddenly at that) I stood up and literally threw my child (she was about 21 months) into the arms of the first flight attendant I saw and still managed to get to the toilet.

Love J’s Pine cone.

Also love the pics of you and R in front of Echo Lake!!
Thanks!!
Yesterday I told J what you said about the pine cone. A few of his cousins were there & asked him who you were so I showed them the picture that I took of you & him. He really started blushing!!

I always think the same thing when I see people dressed that way!! I'm ready to pass out just looking at them!!

Of course I'm in after hearing how enamored J was of @TrolleyFollower91 in @Tuvalu's TR 😉. And I must say - he's a real cutie. Love the pics of him "reading".
Thanks!! Him "reading" on the plane gets me every time. It's so funny!!

I would have done the same thing!

We strolled through some shops after the show then it was time for dinner!! I'm always excited to eat at 50's. The food has never disappointed & the atmosphere is a lot of fun!!(Side note-my mom has celiac & says that 50's made the best gluten free chicken pot pie she has ever had.)
IMG_2762.jpg

My only gripe about 50's is that we're never seated on time. Today was an exception though. I was quite surprised b/c our reservation was for 5:15 & I thought it would be mobbed in there but it wasn't.
IMG_2750.jpg

IMG_2752.jpg

I ordered Grandma's Picnic Punch at the recommendation of our "cousin", Michael. Sorry to say I didn't care for it in the least. Thank goodness I ordered a water also!! I believe E had the Mowie Wowie.
IMG_2753.jpg

R had the Magical Star Cocktail.
IMG_2754.jpg

E always gets Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken which she enjoyed as always. R likes the meatloaf so he chose that. R doesn't really eat vegetables & he learned the hard way last year at 50's about eating his vegetables. The meatloaf comes with green beans which he absolutely does not eat. Well, when our "cousin" saw his plate he picked up his fork & fed him the green beans. I wish I could have got my phone out quick enough to take a picture but it was buried in my bag so I wouldn't get corrected for having a "walkie talkie" at the table. This year he got wise and asked for corn instead(the one veggie he will eat). He told Michael that he wanted to substitute the corn so he didn't get scolded like he did the year before.
IMG_2756.jpg

I always get A Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes.
Excellent!!
IMG_2757.jpg

R ate his meal quite quickly & Michael kept telling him to slow down. But before long(thanks to the corn) he became a member of this elite club!!
IMG_2758.jpg

IMG_2759.jpg

Towards the end of the meal Michael came by to tell us that he had good news for us. He said "Don't worry. I checked & your luggage is still in you room." R & E laughed and apparently I had a beyond puzzled look on my face. Here he was just making a joke & I guess I was reading too deep into it. Well, that was his cue to totally pick on me. He told me I would have got it but I must be drunk from my beverage. Remember how I said I didn't like it--I think I may have drank half of it. He kept telling me to remember that I was in Hollywood Studios not Epcot among a bunch of other things. When he brought the bill he made sure he handed it to R b/c he said I was in no shape to sign my name to anything. He was extremely funny & really made the meal. I only wish I would have thought to get his picture!!

We ended yet another excellent meal at 50's with some dessert. That was quite the mistake given what our plans entailed a short while later......

Thanks for sharing the TR! Hollywood Studios is my favorite park; I haven’t done the Frozen show yet though. Also, Pizzarizzo’s is the best!:hungry::happy:

After our wonderful meal we said a quick hello to Gertie.
IMG_2763.jpg

R & J had wanted to see this show all day & it finally fit into our plans so we watched it.
IMG_2764.jpg

IMG_2765.jpg

J has never seen any of the Star Wars movies(come to think of it, neither have I) but he has really taken a liking to the characters.
IMG_2766.jpg

We had a little bit of time to kill so we were able to fit in an oldie but goodie.
IMG_2767.jpg

It was finally time for the dessert party!! E & I are not Star Wars fans in the least. Not saying that there is anything wrong with them but to be quite honest I've never had a desire to watch the movies. I'm sure they are very good. Maybe one of these days......
Anyhow, I thought R would really enjoy the dessert party so he's the reason I got the tickets.
IMG_2771.jpg

We were greeted as we walked in.
IMG_2772.jpg

The lanyard we were given to wear.
IMG_2773.jpg

When we first got in we had the opportunity to meet Kylo Ren. We were a bit concerned about how J would react to him(truth be told, I was a bit scared for myself also). Last year R & I met him and he literally did not say one word to us. We took the picture then he spoke, "You can go now". He totally creeped me out.
So we put on our smiles & said in nice, happy voices, "Oh look, J it's Kylo Ren"(like we were meeting someone along the lines of Cinderella). He spoke this time but wasn't as scary as I heard & have seen that he can be. I was grateful for the way he acted.
IMG_3599.jpg

He did tell J that he senses that he has special powers and he could teach him to make good use of them.
IMG_3600.jpg

It actually was a fun meet & greet!!

FYI--don't have dinner plans then go to a dessert party 2 hours later. I couldn't believe the amount of food. It wasn't just desserts either. We easily could have skipped dinner at 50's & made a meal out of what they had here. R decided we needed to get our monies worth somehow so the drinks it was!! I tried one of each of the top 3 drinks. The Galactic Punch was my favorite. R got our monies worth on the Cosmic Citrus Twists!!

Pop, water, coffee & tea area.

Bar area.

This was our assigned table. I thought it was a very nice setup.
IMG_2777.jpg

Everyone is smiling in this one!!
IMG_2779.jpg

The amount of food was insane!! I didn't take any photos of our food but we did try some things even though we were so full from dinner. Also, it was so dark in there a lot of my pictures weren't coming out well at all.
IMG_2780.jpg

J's favorite part--the desserts!!

None of us tried anything from the next few stations. I seriously couldn't get over how much food there was there!!
IMG_2785.jpg

IMG_2786.jpg

Soon it was time to head outside for the fireworks. We were each given a Darth Vader mug & a bottle of water. I didn't take too many pictures. It was nice to be in an area that wasn't super crowded with people. Everyone sat through the whole show except for ONE woman & she stood front & center. It was so annoying--I believe that's why I didn't take too many pics b/c she would have been in pretty much all of them & it would bring back bad memories. She is in the video that I took though. I'm having an issue getting videos to load onto here. If I can get it on I'll post it. Any thoughts of what the issue might be?
IMG_2789.jpg

Anyhow, I thought the projections were very good but it was hard to see some of the fireworks b/c we were so close. But it was nice to do something different & R really enjoyed it so I was happy about that.
IMG_2790.jpg

This is the Darth Vader mug that they gave us. My nephew J(not this J, another one) is now the proud owner of it!!
IMG_3544.jpg

After the show we made our way out with the crowds and back to POR!! Tomorrow we would be heading back to MK!!
