What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

I'd guess that without Beastly Kingdom they weren't going to do any dragon based attractions. I don't really know anything about that concept/ride so just speculating. They do a ton of boat cavalcades now though and still Kitetails randomly showing in the outdoor theater.
The "Dragon Den" is literally just a den on the riverbank that has fire breathing out of it (you don't see the dragon). It's already installed, and IIRC, the fire worked when DAK opened. I believe you could see if from one of the bridges.

Interesting. I assumed you were talking about an unbuilt addition to the old Discovery river boat ride or something of the like. I don't know why they got rid of the boats, but they use the water for so many other things now that I don't think they'd ever bring it back. I personally really like the more chaotic nature of the boats driving by with characters or the band.

Yes, that is the name of it!

I can proudly say I was on the slow boat to nowhere 👍🏻
I never got to ride.

I think DHS has probably the greatest collection of headliners in WDW but suffers from the lack of mid tier rides to support them. And when the shows are stale or closed, the lack of rides becomes too apparent. I think the park is stronger than it’s ever been in its history but that’s reflective of how mediocre it has been throughout its history. It still needs two more lands (to replace Echo Lake and Animation Courtyard) and additional attractions in existing lands to reach its potential.

Also would be nice if they brought back a day time parade.
I keep banging this drum: the Studios and DAK absolutely cannot handle downtime on any mid level or greater attraction. Capacity is so tight and the distribution so narrow, it essentially breaks the park and mires the experience of everyone in it.

This clearly is not something the intrepid decision makers in burbank are too worried about since Whirl was closed without a replacement and DHS complete attraction capacity is probably not significantly better than it was 15 years ago, and they both have had theater shows take arduously slow paths to return after a shuttering almost 30 months ago.

Went to DHS last week and ditched an Oga's reservation in the early afternoon to get to make sure we saw Indy. After 20 minutes of jamming humans in there and everybody with their snacks and drinks, they finally give us a quick note that the show is only going to be the first scene. Wait times spiked massively after that when all those people dumped back into the park with all the other shows already running. Even if they just built an Endor walkthrough like the old HISTK, they need a can for the sardines.

You missed out on absolutely nothing

A wood coaster in dino-AK would be a hit with *this* customer. The longer the better. Throw in a mountain hiding a second chain hill and maybe we can hit that magic 500m budget without IP or tech.
To be fair, I think the idea was for the Excavator to be “wood” as in actually being a steel coaster but themed to look like a wooden one.

Speaking of fire, why wasn't the DAK river boat ride (with Dragon den) ever opened? I get that Fantasialand didn't happen, but now w/ Pandora open, there should be plenty to see on the river.

There was originally going to be an actual dragon animatronic, but it was scrapped due to budget cuts. I'd recommend reading this for the full story:
