What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

Do you actually ride TSMM and not end up laughing your head off with a sore arm? It's probably the purist form of fun at all of WDW.

I've been on it twice and never bothered going on again.

I think my issue is that it's essentially a 15+ year old video game, and not an especially good one. Shooting at targets on a screen showing an old video game just doesn't do anything for me.

The excavator concept is great

I don't even think this is true anymore -- it was a solid concept when the park was absolutely desperate for more attractions, but now... it's just a wooden roller coaster that's not really heavily themed. It's nowhere near as interesting as Everest, which IMO replaced it as DAK's coaster.

There are much better options for DAK than the Excavator.

I haven't ridden Guardians, but pre-Guardians there was a vast chasm between EPCOT and DHS for me. I imagine with the current disassembled state of EPCOT right now, even with Guardians I'd still have it as the worst Disney park in the country.

I think Spaceship Earth, even in its diminished state, is better than any attraction at DHS (RotR possibly excepted, but I'll likely still like SSE more), and I love the World Showcase. There's admittedly some nostalgia for the old Future World in there too. Factor in my disdain for essentially everything in TSL (SDD is at least fun for what it is, but it's not worth waiting in line to ride) and lack of interest in RnRC and current DHS just doesn't have much to offer me.

The last time I was at DHS I think we were there for about 4 hours and then left because we'd already done everything that interested us.

DHS is the worst of the 4 FL parks for me, but that may be because im in CA and have a lot of the DHS attractions at the CA parks so theres just not that much new stuff to do. AK > Epcot > MK > DHS imo

Really? I think even with the recent expansions it's still the weakest park and most in need of additions. For me, it's the only park where I could not even come close to spending a full day; there's almost nothing to do outside of the attraction lineup -- it's a much weaker park in that aspect than it was 20 years ago.

Admittedly I don't like half the attractions at DHS, so that doesn't help, but it's still lacking overall.
While I don’t happen to like alot of the more thrill based rides of HS, I don’t get how you can say outside of attractions there is almost nothing to do?

Outside of attentions you have:
droid building
Light saber building
Indy show
Frozen sing along
Beauty and beast show
Cars show
Adding in the new Star Wars “game”

If anything it’s one other more balances attraction/experience parks

I can't wait, really hoping for a Tokyo Disney announcement. I want to go in May 2023. Done with the US parks for a while personally.

Hoping to get a Fantasy Springs release date and maybe a new attraction announced. Although Tokyo is having their space Mountain redone, it'll be a while. I also am curious if Disney will announce the removal of the pirates auction scene for Tokyo as it goes under a major closure for 7 months. It's speculated the auction scene will be removed and or the ride needs a major renovation. There's rumors floating around that Tokyo Disney has a possible exclusive retheme for Splash that might be in development. Overall I just would like something about Tokyo Disney. Fantasy Springs opens next year or two and I think there's not much information regarding what it will entail.

Some news about Splash in the US would be nice as well.

Realistic announcement: Primeval Whirl replacement attraction (cynic in me says it will be a Zootopia clone), freshening of Dinoland concept

Would Be Great announcement: Demolition of Millennium Pavilion/tent, with proper, full-scale Poppins attraction using that backstage space for attraction footprint

DREAM announcement: Entire Animation Courtyard area plus more becomes LOTR/Hobbit/Tolkien-land

Your dream announcement has not been ruled out... You're just a few miles south..

Droid building and lightsaber building are both upcharges (and there's really not much to the droid building).

Regardless, I really meant additional stuff to do that doesn't require waiting in line -- those shows are still generally attractions with a queue. EPCOT has exploring the World Showcase and DAK has the animal trails, plus more streetmosphere.

I'd argue that DHS is the best park (and I love EPCOT the most). It has the most exciting rides.
  1. RnRc
  2. ToT
  3. TSMM
  4. RotR
  5. MFSR
  6. ST
  7. EDIT, I forgot SDD
The other parks are seriously lacking for adult/thrill rides. DAK has 3 rides, MK has 4 rides, EPCOT has 4 rides.
Disney parks are not for thrill rides.

Never have, never will be.

Those “thrills” aren’t very thrilling. Tower and RNRC are really the only ones that qualify.

Slinky is ok…but family coaster class.

Nothing…nutting…in abrams land even loosely is a thrill ride. A toned down platform sim and a trackless that is kid tempered with a lot of bells and whistles.

I know we got more “thrill” flavor from particularly the late Eisner years…but they have moved away from that more than they’ve moved to it.

Rides can be fun - like midway - and not be a thrill. Lines don’t equate to thrills…they just equate to crowd mismanagement in Orlando more than anything.
