What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

It's been heavily rumored / documented that a lot of what was planned for the overall rollout was held back for GS (e.g. street entertainment, music, sit down restaurant)
Not necessarily, instead the budget was cut for these things that were already in development so they moved them into the Starcruiser. For example the TSR was going to be ran by a performer named Gaya, who would’ve been the proprietor of Batuu, instead the restaurant was cut, making Oga and her cantina the watering hole for underworld activity. Gaya now performs on the Starcruiser. One of her songs has been on DJ REXs playlist at Ogas since Batuu opened. Street entertainment is just something Disney doesn’t want to pay.

That sounds links a lotta smoke to cover bad ideas and budget blowing

All they had to do was MAKE IT TATOOINE instead of the lesser clone from the movies that should have never been made. Or Bespin. Or Coruscant. SOMETHING. ELSE.
They coulda done a lot more…my ideas way back when - maybe pre-announcement…woulda worked. Maybe
I think they could have partially themed each version a bit too…would have been more longterm for a little distinction. But WDI can’t build a $199 Lego set in a month for less than $199,000

NO! Enough Tatooine. No new Star Wars content should ever feature Tatooine.

They did the right thing by making it a generic Star Wars area that wasn’t seen in movies. They screwed up by then making it a place in the Star Wars universe. It should’ve been a generic Star Wars area where you can see characters/events from different movies/eras.

True. But a swing and a miss is still a strike.
Again, that’s a different issue. People write lists of the worst sports cars because being a sports car and being a good car are somewhat distinct things. Everyone keeps trying to bend the ticket system to their personal preferences and/or popularity but the truth is that you can have a lousy, unpopular E Ticket.

I didn’t want tatooine either

But they didn’t make it “generic”. They shoved as much solo and episode crap…i meant “seven” in there as they could because they NEVER read the room in the presidio right

All the smokescreens and excuses…leads back to the reality of that.

But seriously…we need a spin-off thread here.

On the street…it’s just lore. There is no Tangible baseline metic for “E” outside of Burbank…

There really isn’t. They frankly don’t build enough to distinguish them to the common Joe anymore. That’s a problem too. Too much money and inefficiency. They’re currently slow rolling a tron clone. “Don’t rush, boys”.

Only Tokyo and emergency bailouts get classic “Disney” construction anymore.

That does matter.

No…WDI gets unlimited time, funding the results don’t matter…
You are NOT to question them.

I’ll admit my mistake in that I thought it was Rohde…boy was I wrong. It’s gotten worse since he completed his last big projects.
IMO the biggest reason why things go over budgets is Disney announces new things before they get to the final planning stages.

I still maintain nothing should get announced til shovels are in the ground. I think seeing construction going on before announcements helps build excitement
