What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

I actually think NRJ is among the better rides they've built this century (despite having some obvious flaws) but I guess I'm just partial to the things it does really well (that a lot of other recent Disney rides have not done so well).
NRJ is a very good ride, but it's too short. It was always a C ticket during development and is probably the best C Ticket on property. The issue is that what's there is a D or E but there isn't enough of it, so it feels underwhelming.

I know there's no comparison but kali river rapids also has the makings of an extremely good ride, probably could be one of the best rapids rides ever.. it's just way too short!

Obviously but I feel like they put so much effort into how things look period…..look at galaxy’s edge….it looks amazing but there’s really not much to do unless I want to spend additional money. The forest area near rise is also very….empty. I also can’t really count a ride half of the day guests won’t get to ride as some substance 😂

Look at pandora I love FOP and I also love the look of pandora but there’s not much else to do? The second ride is trash tier and the land looks good but again just ok now what do I do?
And if you haven't been to the parks in 3years, how are you able to judge what GE looks like, feels like, and what you can do there?

I think you are too harsh, but the basic point is correct: Disney has a tendency to underbuild new lands by being 1-2 attractions short of fully fleshed out experiences. They seem to spend a ton of the environment which is admirable, but shouldn't happen at the cost of having a third attraction.

Both Pandora and Galaxy's Edge need a third attraction to compliment what is there - even a theater show or walk through would be solid. Toy Story Land needed another 2 small flat rides. Avengers is missing the major E-ticket (though you could argue for Mission Breakout being good enough as the top attraction/main draw, but it would still need at least another D-ticket). Cars Land was the last full land they have done domestically that felt "complete" at opening (even if the Tire ride was subpar and needed to be changed) with appropriate attractions and complimentary features (shops, food, M&Gs).
I wouldn’t call it trash tier it has some neat effects but like most things the budget got slashed and we ended up with a meh ok attraction. Avatarland could use something else I just don’t know what that would be unless you could do a coaster with that type of theming
IMHO I think what Pandora really needs is an appropriate "animal trail" indoor walkthrough where there are some AAs of larger animals. That would compliment the rest of DAK well and fit the park, but also provide a "low wait" thing to do in that corner of the park that would be an option if/when the rides have long lines or after you do one and want to enjoy something else in the area.

I agree -- I also think the wait times are a serious problem. When people are waiting 60+ minutes to ride, they generally expect more (I'm surprised Peter Pan doesn't get dinged for this, at least by new riders -- maybe it does), so that doubles down on making it feel underwhelming.

If I didn't know what Peter Pan was before our first visit, I would have been disappointed by the ride due to waiting that long. Knowing what it was, we only did it once because someone (see profile lol) had a tiny crush on Pan.

It is incredibly odd to have almost zero substantive rumors regarding announcements. It’s across the board. No one has a clue.

The obvious things are more “clarifications” on already announced projects. Nothing genuinely new.

The only rumor I've seen - if anyone else has seen anything suggested, please feel free to post - is one person hinting about something Jungle Book related for DAK by mentioning Sloth Bears and Orangutans.

I know in the distant past, @ToTBellHop had said they had plans for some E-tickets ready to go to compete with Uni's EU if they were approved. Hopefully they'll dust those off and greenlight them....

(Edit: this is the post in question but it is from a while ago)

I'd be super chill I'd they announced they were closing and expanding Kali and making into a great river rapids ride that it was supposed to be before it got cut. Also they could add jungle book characters into it. Not a full on JB themed ride but have them telling you something educational about the river and surrounding areas perhaps. KRR feature JB

I recall hearing this too. I believe, at one point in time, there was a Jungle Book attraction planned for DAK using the Shanghai Pirates tech. Based off of the 2016 film. That’s a large project, and idk how relevant that specific iteration of the film is anymore, but I would be thrilled to see that get announced.

If you’re “reading the room”…then they are entering a sustained period of minimal capex. Just how it appears to be rolling out.

That absolutely doesn’t pass the eye nor the sniff tests
