Nice! I like the lines better than the Z4, but four seats?! Doesn't BMW have a wild Lambo type replacement for the Z8 coming out? And Brian, do you know anything about the Z2? Someone just mentioned it to me, but I don't know anything about it. From what he said, it sounds more Miata than Z4.

Gary...I'm not sure if we're thinking about the same thing...but they have made a concept of a smaller car...but I don't think they've named it the "Z2"

There are 2...the first is the X Coupe...which I don't like...(although you should see how the "trunk" opens  )

Thanks!! I kind of like the looks of the X coupe, but I'm afraid it won't have enough guts since the idea seems to be to make it more affordable. If they can keep the weight down, it may not have to have outrageous power.

Ohhhhh that looks like a production model!!! (Hey Gary...if it's a 1.8Turbo...this car might MOVE!) (It's small enough)

Yeah, surely a car that small would really move with a 1.8, even without the turbo.

Ok...Motor Trend has done a comparison for us Gary :)

2003 BMW Z4 3.0i vs. 2003 Porsche Boxster S

Vehicle Layout: Front Engine, RWD, 2-door,2-passenger
Engine: Inline-6 DOHC, 4 Valves/Cyl.
Displacement, ci/cc: 182.3/2986.6

Max Torque @ rpm: 214@3500
Transmission: 6 Speed Manual
Curb Weight, lb: 2998

1/4 mile, sec @ mph: 14.11@ 97.93

200ft skidpad, lateral g: 0.95
600ft slalom, mph: 70.3

Boxster:

Base Price: $51,600
Price as Tested: $57,905
Vehicle Layout: Mid Engine, RWD, 2-door,2-passenger
Engine: Flat-6 DOHC, 4 Valves/Cyl.
Displacement, ci/cc: 194.3/3179
Max HP @ rpm: 258@6250
Max Torque @ rpm: 229@4500
Transmission: 6 Speed Manual
Curb Weight, lb: 2999
0-60 mph, sec: 5.3
1/4 mile, sec @ mph: 13.76@ 102.08
Braking, 60-0 mph, ft: 112
200ft skidpad, lateral g: 0.93
600ft slalom, mph: 68.3
EPA mpg, city/hwy: 18/26

Well, just my opinion...but...for $13,000 less...I'll take the BMW and put the rest of the dough towards something like a motorcycle or something else fun. ($13,000 doesn't justify 0.2 seconds 0-60, slightly worse handling (notice the slalom), slightly more HP, and worse gas mileage)

(Hehe, although...don't buy just yet...look what's RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!)

I know a few of you have VW's and I just thought that I'd inform you:

VW/Audi is recalling 530,000 cars to replace ignition coils.

The cars affected are:
2001, 2002, and early 2003 models of the following:

1.8-liter/turbo-equipped Audi A4 & TT, VW Golf, Jetta, New Beetle, and Passat.
2.8-liter/VR 6-equipped VW's
3.0-liter/V-6-equipped Audis
VW Passat W8

(which weren't recalled??? (the Eurovan?!?!?))

VW and Audi will give you alternate transportation while the work is being done on your car (gee...isn't that nice of them)

I travel this land packed tight in a minivan!

(Okay, so I don't drive a cool car, per say, but that is a line from kid rock song - sort of - that adds to my cool factor, right? Please?)
