I agree. I love my VW. I don't know what it is about them, but they seem to engender an emotional repsonse when driven.

Yup VWs are the best! I have a 2001 Cyber Green Beetle. :D I just love it, nothing but Volkswagens for me from now on!

Are they really planning a Jetta convertible, or is that just wishful thinking? I could definitely see myself in a drop top Jetta! :D Before they came out with a convertible, they would probably come out with a coupe version first, right? That would be cool too!

I heard they were thinking about bringing a sedan version of the Polo to America.

Indeed they are... it's going to be based upon the new A5 platform, and will be released one year after the Beetle Convertible, which will also be one year prior to the new redesign of the Jetta/Golf/GTI. So, that would mean 2004 for the Jetta Convertible, and 2005 for the new A5 platform... (if all goes well, of course)

From what I am to hear, it's going to have a folding hard top roof, kinda like the SLK... I'm sure that will set it in a different price range than the Beetle Convertible. I'm actually really surprised that the Audi Cabriolet didn't take on the hard top roof...

This is just a preliminary sketch... but if the car looks anything like this, it shall be sweeeeeet...

I am a pretty big guy and I just about max out my old vette from head to toe, that is one of the reasons I went to the F-150. I have always had a full size truck for daily use and sports car to pimp the girls and this is the 1st time in 9 years I don't, but I am ok with it. I'm saving a ton of money each month and I'd look funny ripping up to a bar with a baby riding shotgun in my vette.
I really like the VW's and Audi's but I'm not comfortable in them, I like the passats and jettas but I'm to big, its like they are designed for someone under 6 foot. I love the inside of them especially the purple dashlites and mono chromatic design, they are so chic. Not to offend anyone, seriously,on a weird twist it seems most of my gay friends drive vw's, which is cool with me and I would buy one in a heartbeat if they made a larger car or SUV but that's not their style.too bad.

Actually, VW is coming out with both...

The Phaeton, which will be like a $70,000 super luxury automobie, and the Toureg which is an SUV...

Any word on what engine will go into this ride? Do you think it'll be the W8 or stick with the 1.8T?

Seeing how small the Jetta is... and how expensive the W8 is... I'm guessing they will stick to the new 24v VR6 and perhaps the 225hp 1.8T... Those engines alone are super sweet. I personally have the older 12v VR6 and man, it MOVES.

I've actually been looking lately and I've got about 3 cars (narrowed from 5) that I'm interested in...

I like the BMW Z4 A LOT!
I also like the Honda Element (I know I know...2 totally different vehicles...but it looks more "practical" (especially with the snow))
And, I like the Infinity G35

The 2 cars that I eliminated were the BMW 330xi and the Nissan 350Z

speed machine all the way. '93 Ford Escort with a dented right front quarter panel and smashed turn signal. The air dynamics are even better since adding the bike rack to the hatchback. It really hugs road in the curves.

My ex had one of these... It would hug the road too... but I think that was because the shocks were giving way. Oh, but the roar of that engine... man... you could feel the vibration of the power when he'd floor it... either that, or I felt the other cars just zooming by?
