What shows do you own, or plan to own, on DVD?

What shows does everyone collect on DVD? Here is my list:

Combat! I just ordered the final season to complete the series, off ebay.

Incredible Hulk...First, third and fourth seasons. I still need the 2nd and 5th, although the 5th season was a short season and isn't even out on DVD yet that I'm aware of.

Hogan's Heros...1st Season. However, I have only watched one episode of my DVD's. I enjoy watching it on TVLand, but it is unlikely that I will attempt to purchase any other seasons anytime soon.

Twilight Zone (original Series). This one is out by "collections" rather than seasons. Each collection is a compilation of episodes from different seasons, and I have the 1st Collection. I don't have any plans of going after any other collections anytime soon. I still enjoy it, but it's not on my priority list of shows to purchase on DVD.

The Disney Treasures of Donald, Goofy, Pluto and Mickey, although I don't have the Mickey and Donald sets in their entirety.

Gilmore Girls...my wife has the 5th season. She received it as a gift, although she does enjoy the show. But she has barely watched any of them, so we won't be pursuing any of those, either.

Other shows that I would like to get on DVD eventually include:

Car 54 Where Are You? (If they ever release it on DVD)

I have two:

Soap - All seasons. Funniest sitcom ever.

Freaks & Geeks - I have the special edition release in a school yearbook format with tons of extras. An incredible, funny, poignant, realistic look at high school in the early 80s.

My next major DVD purchase will be SCTV, the funniest sketch comedy show ever.

I have the entire I Love Lucy series on DVD. A friend gave me some episodes of The Lucy Show for Christmas.

The 3 Chronological Donald DVD sets.

Tale Spin (Volume 1), Ducktales (Vol. 1-3), Rescue Rangers (Vol. 1-2), Darkwing Duck (Vol. 1).

The Flintstones Season 6

Gilligan's Island Season 2

As you can tell, I Love Lucy was my first real "must have" entire series. I'm slowly working on the rest of them, and started with my favorite seasons.

How often do you all actually watch these DVDs? I've never purchased (only "Netflix-ed") television series DVDs for fear of "not getting my money's worth." What is it about a show that keeps you coming back to watch it again and again, over say a new movie release DVD?

I do have to say, once I have children, I'd really like to get the Fraggle Rock DVDs, since I grew up watching that show over and over.

We have FRIENDS, that's the only one. I am not sure why, but we'll watch them over and over again, I guess cause we love the characters so much and it is so fun!!

I second the Fraggle Rock series, I saw a trailer lately for it and was stoked!

Well, it all depends. For instance, the Fraggle Rock, Muppets and Story Teller I got because I love Jim Henson and get anything he worked on. I watch those occasionally.

Clone Wars, well, it's Star Wars, and I am weak when it comes to Star Wars. My pay check is basically hooked up to George Lucas' direct deposit, so I had to get it. I watch the Star Wars movies so much that I like to watch the Clone Wars cartoons in between Episodes 2 and 3. I know, I know, I am a geek.:D

How I Met Your Mother is just an extremely funy show and one my best friend and I we watch every so often when we get to hang out and just laugh while watching it and playing chess.

Freaks and Geeks, well, it's something I watch every so often when I need something important. It reminds me of growing up, being the Star Wars geek in love with the beautiful girl you can never have. It's a great show and should have last more than one season but sadly didn't.

So, to answer the question, I watch them every so often. Basically, enough times to warrant me buying them. I need to have some sort of attachment to the show for me to want to watch them over and over, be it nostalgia from my childhood or identifying with a character where it feels like they are almost telling your story.

When the moment strikes you, you watch it. When I feel like watching my Lucy DVD, I'll pick one I feel like watching. When I first get the DVD's, I'll watch every single episode. Then maybe they'll stay there for a while, but I always come back to them when I get that urge to watch the particular show.

I'm more about getting those DVD's than movies, unless it's a movie I absolutely must have.

The same question you posed could be said for movies. I can go a LONG time without seeing one of my movies. Case and point: It's been years since I saw Blast from the Past with Brendan Fraser, but I recently looked at it and just popped it in
