What should happen to Winnie the Pooh?

What should happen to the ride??

  • Turn it into a SW:GE ride

  • Turn it into a new Critter Country ride

  • Demolish it and build a show building for a better Pooh ride

  • Demolish it and build something other than a ride

  • Demolish it and build a show building for a different themed ride

  • Leave it alone

  • Turn it into a CBJ revival

Just a couple things:
  • 5 minute wait time does not mean the ride is not just as popular; as the capacity is way greater in comparison to Fantasyland dark rides.
  • Anaheim may have received the 'cheaper' version of the ride, with most everything being 2D cutouts (same as Toad), but at least it is not Florida's weird mix of 3D and 2D cutouts. And it has a better scene arrangement too!
Give Pooh a break.

I don’t believe Pooh’s capacity is greater than Snow’s and Pinocchio’s.

It’s always a five-minute wait because it’s not very popular. The lines speak for themselves, and I’d say Pooh is a walk-on maybe 50% of the time.

Let me ask you this: Do you think Pooh is that capable of staying throughout the next 20-30 years?

That is just merch though. I am talking about a person or family to walk on this ride almost every single time they go to DLR because they like the ride.
I could see it both happening and not happening at the same time. Winnie the pooh, as far as I am aware, doesn't have too much of the issues something like dca has. But I can see them replacing it too, due to crowds or other internal reasons.

Yikes bro, Pooh replaced what was once an E ticket attraction with something that's at most a mediocre C ticket.

Mansion and Pirates have way higher capacities than Pooh, but somehow always have a 30+ minute wait. There's no reason Pooh couldn't have been well enough designed to attract higher wait times.

You could be right. I thought it was known to be 3.5x the capacity. But that does not seem to be fact.

Country Bear Jamboree was classified an e-ticket? Wow!

It's alright because there's never a line, it's a decent enough darkride and while I had no knowledge otherwise of Winnie the Poo, I recognize the character because Dana Barrett's infant in Ghostbusters II wore pajamas with the bear on it.

I should add though, Pooh takes up about 23779 square feet (if my rough Google Maps estimate is correct), But the Pan/Toad/Alice building is 25581 square feet. The combined throughput for those three attractions is about 1675 people/hr... but its not uncommon to see Alice, Pan, and Toad each with a 20-60 minute line, while Pooh only ever has a 5-15 minute line.

How would you do the math to calculate total demand per hour for each attraction (wait time length vs capacity)? I'd be curious to see if we can calculate whether or not the argument that "Pooh's line is short because the capacity is so high, but it's just as popular as the Fantasyland dark rides" holds any validity.

Also worth noting that Pooh only runs at the 2000/hr capacity when there are actually people wanting to ride it... it's not uncommon to see vehicles going out only 25% full or empty.

Winnie the Pooh gets too much underserved hate. It suffers from just three problems:

  1. It replaced a Marc Davis attraction
  2. Too much empty space
  3. Thematically inconsistent with Critter Country
Other than these points, Winnie the Pooh is ok.

I agree with points 1 & 2. #3 never crosses my mind even though it’s true.

I'd also add.... that in a park where seasonal overlays are all the rage, it's a bit amusing that the only attraction where the overlays actually worked was take out.
