What rides do you miss when you go to Disneyland instead of WDW?

I miss WDW's outside the park atmosphere. Anaheim is so trashy. I'm waiting for the bus across from the entrance to DLR and two homeless people are sleeping on a bench. One wakes up and starts yelling racial slurs at a few Hispanic maids. Then he walks over and pees in the bushes. I waited an hour for the bus. Not a police officer was in the area the entire time. The area around DLR needs better security.

Besides that, I miss Epcot the most.

The last time I visited Epcot, I missed EPCOT Center the most. Epcot is only a shell of its former glory now.

I too am 6 foot and I found the "one leg straight the other leg crossed" method and it was find. I also had a pretty large backpack which mad it even more difficult, but I loved it. It is rough and wild, but that's how I like it.

When I saw the Matterhorn as a kid, they was no Internet. I could not just look up the rides at Disneyland. The fact DL had different rides was mind blowing to me as I thought the parks were carbon copies of one another. I had no idea how fun the ride would be, I just saw a ride I hadn't ridden that Disney had made so I wanted to ride it (as this point the Skyway travel through the mountain, which made it extra appealing). By today's standards it is not the best, but it is a nice family coaster that is well themed.

Oh I understand the ride would have serious nostalgia for long time Disneylanders. Just for me who lives about 4 hours from WDW, I just never got out there until now. Nothing terrible about it. Just not what I had built it up to. And next time, I'll try the one leg crossed method. Maybe that would have helped!

The only ones I really miss are the Florida versions of Spalsh Mountain and The Haunted Mansion.

When I'm at Disneyland, I like to focus on the things I can't do at either WDW or DLP: Indy, Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad, Submarines, etc.

Living with the Land almost made my list. It they still had the song I would have put it on my list for sure!

I am not a big fan of Ellen's, especially with the missing effects, but I think I was the only person who mentioned Carousal of Progress. Everyone is different. That's why I started this thread, I wanted to see what other people thought. Thanks for joining the discussion!

The song plays in the restrooms.. So why not a combination of "Living with The Land with The Land Restrooms"

I can just play the song on my phone and listen to it when I ride. (Not joking I have done this!) I think the Imagination restrooms have some good nostalgic music as well.

Do the Tangled restrooms play "I See the Light" on repeat? ;)

I find myself incapable of missing anything in WDW when I'm in Disneyland. I like that the two resorts are so different.

I do wish that a Disneyland version of EPCOT had been built, though. DCA is kinda a one note park, despite a few billion poured into it.

Westcot would have been very interesting, and much more suited to my tastes, personally. It is too bad "EuroDisney wasn't success initially and then maybe California would have a more cohesively themed 2nd park. Or at least one that wasn't built on the cheap.

Except Toad is long gone from WDW. I have to say we had the superior 2-track version that was much better than the DL's current version.
So there really was a Mr. Toads at WDW... I wondered about that I knew I had ridden it as a kid but just assumed it was on trips to DL and not WDW... And I did think that it was a two track version which threw me when I was at DL and it was only a single track.

I just got back from Disneyland i can attest to the homeless problem. I saw several different homeless people digging through the trash cans at the bus stop right outside the best western park place inn. This is the only real thing that bothered me out there was the lack of police presence. It just doesn't feel very Disney like seeing this so close to the parks.

Agreed and while I sympathize with the plights some people deal with, the behavior I saw was racist and completely inappropriate.

I saw 2 homeless guys at the bus stop on Katella and Harbor, but that just seemed normal to me, sad, but normal. I have lived in a lot of bigger cities and there was not one that didn't have a homeless (street person) problem. A lot of homeless people have several mental health issues and substance abuse issues on top of that. Several are veterans. I know it isn't very Disney, but Harbor Blvd is still the real world, so not much they can do. You could always spring for a stay at one of the 3 Disney resorts on property if you want to avoid this.

racist? How was anything racist with homeless people digging in trash cans? Did you see signs saying white only trash diggers allowed? I'm baffled how you can see racism in homelessness...
