What rides do you miss when you go to Disneyland instead of WDW?

I grew up with Disneyland and now live on the east coast. Seeing the old People Mover track in disrepair is depressing. And I get a bit verklempt riding Toad because WDW no longer has it. And I wish WDW had Matterhorn.

As a child I saw the Matterhorn in a Disney picture book, and I thought where is that is WDW? It took me til I was 43 years old, but I finally got to ride the Matterhorn and it was glorious, painful, but glorious! I am six feet and my legs are about 4 feet of that, so I sat cross-legged during my rides. Weird, but awesome. Truly a childhood dream come true!

Cool, I can't wait to experience your park next year, any tips?
Do Big Thunder, Indy, Pirates, Space, Crush( do know that you will probably have to wait a long time for this one), Ratatouille, Tower, Taniere du dragon, phantom manor rock n rollercoaster and if you have kids Animagique is a must. Also we still have the original Star Tours if youre interested. Other unique things are the labyrinth, nautilus, aladdin passage and the amazing Disney Dreams spectacular. If youre in wdsp try to do Crush and Ratatouille first, when youre at disneyland park try pirates or space mountain first. Also if you want to eat at the parks, eat at times others dont or go to disney village and return to the park after your dinner. I hope you will have a magical time!

Thanks for the tips! I heard Crush always has a monster wait an no FastPass. Taniere du dragon sound fun, but as a dumb American I have no idea what that is. I don't have kids, but Animagique is a must for me!

One thing I had at Tower of Terror in Paris was really weird. My family and I felt like the vehicle had inverted, it was cool, but we were really confused, which made the Twilight Zone thing more amazing.

It is thats the problem. Taniere du dragon is a walkthrough attraction underneath the castle. It really doesnt sound special, but its actually pretty entertaining to look at the dragon that rests im the dark caves. Oh I forgot Cinemagique and the Backlot Tour. The backlot tour is pretty cool, but it did loose a bit of its original shape. Cinemagique is fine, nothing TOO exciting, but quite alright.

It will be nice to see Catastrophe Canyon again!

I was kinda disappointed that nothing was announced for Paris though. So many things have been roaming around like major refurbishments to the rides, marvel area, pixar area, new backlot tour scenes, updated cinemagique, updated animagique, new frontierland ride, new fantasyland expansion, star wars land, new hotels, updated and upgraded disney village and even a third gate and only Phantom Manor, Big Thunder refurbs have been announced.

It seems they are focused on restoring the park to its original greatness. If I am correct, the Star Tours update is finally coming your way. Probably nothing new until after the 2017 refurbs sadly.

We may have pick a bad time to visit with BTMRR probably being down, but we have friend that are living in England that want us to visit before they have kids and move back to the States.

Is rail the best way to get to the parks from England? It would be fun to go thru the "Chunnal" if need be.

Its a very easy way to get to the parks. Im from the Netherlands so ive never done it and we have always gone by car, but a British friend always tells me how easy it is. It might be a problem with the present refugee problems, but I guess you wont notice too much of it.

I'm not a refugee... or am I? Nope, just a dumb American tourist.

So I am sure you have seen the dark rides of Efteling, like Fata Morgana and Dreamflight Droomvlucht. Efteling is on my wish list of parks to visit, mostly because of all the crazy dark rides.

Woah im impressed that you know it. I live 20 minutes away from the Efteling and I have an annual pass. They have recently added a new ride called Baron 1898 and its amazing. The park is awesome, but it will be from a different quality than American theme parks. What makes the Efteling special, is that they usually stick to Dutch or old cultures and stories.
