What is the "major announcement" Uni is making on Thursday?

Everyone's known all along that the announcement for December is on CityWalk. If the fast-tracked JP expansion is opening next holiday season, it'll be announced in the March-June time frame with some hints dropped for Kong (a slight tease) and maybe even The Lorax ride (could still be on track for summer 2016)

I thought Lorax was dead.

Lorax ride is dead...

Love what Universal are doing with attraction additions in the parks, but this line up is not very exciting. Nothing really unique, and not very exciting to look at. Nothing here to bring me into CityWalk.
Same can be said for Disney Springs... I can go to the mall a city over from me... Nothing in Disney Springs, I mean Downtown Disney will bring me there... Not even a parking garage (which at this point is the only thing we may see in DTD)...

amazing how CityWalk can upgrade within a year AND have tenants... While Disney is taking 3-4 years, maybe 5 for Disney Springs and STILL has no tenants...

One big strength of CityWalk, Downtown Disney Anaheim and Disney Village over Downtown Disney Orlando is their proximity to the parks. People are already there so it is not so much about creating an independent attraction. I doubt I would ever just go to CityWalk for any of these places either, but I will probably visit sometime while at Universal Orlando Resort.

It's not dead... more stalled for JP/Kong/Potter 2.0/CityWalk expansion... it's probably going to come out 2016 alongside the KidZone revamp as part of a massive effort to increase kid appeal.

If Lorax isn't built, you can bet Grinch or Horton will take its place :cat:

Not according to some trusted insiders... They have all said Lorax is dead...

I find Downtown Disney, specifically Anaheim, to be pretty boring. On the other hand, I have visited City Walk separately from Universal I don't know how many times. I can't bring myself to do it for DtD.

The polercoaster is aesthetically hideous, IMO. It looks like something that belongs in Vegas, or Dubai, or maybe even on I-drive, but not in a world class Orlando theme park. :(

Depends who you speak to ;)
And I thought someone else backed him up... I know I heard it on a podcast, but forget which one.. No, not Ricky or Lou.. I listen to good podcasts... If I find it, I'll post what was said... I'm just interested in Grongotts and Kong to be honest...

No offence, but I know what's been said. About Lorax and other things. I can't really say more at the moment.

But a family E-ticket with possibly a show and new flat ride is definitely in the cards for Seuss Landing. The projected timeline everyone's showing on Orlando United (more blue sky thou!) is something like this:

Summer 2014 - Potter 2.0
Holiday 2014 - JP expansion (jr. woodie, flat ride, and slight upgrades to existing rides)
Summer 2015 - Kong/Skull Island area (with a family-leaning E-ticket)
Holiday 2015/Spring 2016 - Seuss expansion of some sort
Holiday 2015-Summer 2017 - a slow roll-out of a completely revamped KidZone
Summer 2017 - something new for Toon Lagoon
Holiday 2017 - probably something small for USF... something for London/maybe Potter 3.0
Summer 2018 - whatever will come to the World Expo/open expansion plot area

2019-2022: time range for the rumored 3rd gate/water park

Comcast is getting VERY ambitious

Will these be replacing any of the current locations?
That's what I want to know! Especially want to hear that Pastamore isn't going anywhere.

I like hot dogs a lot, so very eager to see that place. :)

Cold Stone Creamery is really good, so not looking forward to having to walk past it!

Wow, its just like my local mall. I wonder if I should stop going to my local malls food court and save the experience for City Walk?

Jimmy Thick- Whole lotta nothin'.
I bet not more than 3 of these exist at your local mall. Starbucks, Menchie's, and Cold Stone Creamery are the only national chains. There are only 2 Cowfish and neither of those are in malls.
So link to your local mall, please. Put up or shut up.

CityWalk needed more shopping, not new restaurants. Although I'm a bit disappointed that the Jekyll and Hyde Club rumors appear to be nothing but hot air.

A pizza place, a Mexican restaurant, an Italian restaurant and a deli. They are pushing the creative envelope aren't they.

What exactly were you expecting? And just how much "creativity" do we need in our food? Because the only "creative" concept I see in these additions sounds rather disgusting. Just give me a pizza, please.

for a nation that classes Mac and cheese as fine dining, yes.

No. Just... no.
