This is fantastic news its taking CityWalk to a whole new level with a massive expansion. Eight new venues featuring a diverse mix of established national and up-and-coming brands while revamping some existing favourites is a stroke of genius!

I'm interested in trying out a few of these places. Lots of yummy (hopefully) food.
But I don't see any food trucks on the list.....

I think its because of the configuration of the City Walk Area. Wouldnt surprise me if they had the trucks in the Street Scape areas for more accurate themeing. I mean they are so happening. It would be foolish to omit them. Perahaps the first Uni slip up.
You are in luck as you can do that already. I believe that all of these places save for Red Oven already have locations already open in other cities.

Again a shrewd move providing patrons with establishments they may already be familiar with. Unfortunately we dont have many of these chains in the UK so its a difficult choice deciding which ones to grace with our custom and which to avoid.
Just go to Yelp.com and you can get reviews on the ones that are already open. It should provide a good idea of what you can expect to find when the additional locations open up at CityWalk.

Yes but Ive read some of these Yelp things and quite frankly Id rather trust a post from JT. Besides Ive yet to eat decent Italian food in the US.
I've got a couple of places on Mulberry St. in NYC that might fit your bill...
You must not have tried Pizza Hut or Olive Garden then. I'm surprised neither of these made the short list for CW. I'm holding out hope they will show up at DS.

We have Pizza hut it does pizzas that I never saw in Italy, heard of the olive garden, their menu is simply delicious

Thats an alternative, but I was disappointed about the quality of food in San Francisco so Im a bit sceptical now.

Try any city where there is/was a mob presence. That and you need locals to tell you where the good sauce joints are. Unless you only like high-falutin' Italian food.
