What is rumored for 2010?

I hate the freezer so much. I don't even get any popsicles from it!

WWYC is a joint campaign like YOAMD was between DLR and WDW. DLR is celebrating it's 55th next year so I'm guessing for 2010 WDW will have it's own random new meaningless celebration or nothing at all to last until the 40th in 2011.

I wonder...With two "Anniversary Celebrations" following one another...Will things from DL be reused?

And then there's EPCOT's 30th in 2012...

I wish I had your optimism.

I'm not saying they are going to go all out, like we would like them, but if they already have one thing going that attracts guests, why not do another one? Makes business sense to me...

Because when they actually had a legitimate thing to celebrate at WDW (EPCOT 25), they chose a frivolous promotion called the YoMD instead.

Because when they had the perfect chance to reopen PI and bring back the nightly New Years Eve as part of What Will You Celebrate...we got Celebrate Tonight! Instead:rolleyes:

Right. What they did is wrong...But their " legitimate" reason not to celebrate C25 was the fact that it couldn't be resort wide which would lend itself to better marketing. With a 40th Celebration they can easily tie in the entire resort and EPCOT's 30th because it all falls under the same banner.

And as for PI... You know my thoughts. It's a shame and WDW lost something unique.

..But bringing back the NYE and tying it into the Celebrate Tonight campaign seems like it's pushing it.:lookaroun:o

I'm crossing my fingers that a port of the Little Mermaid dark ride comes to MK for the 40th. That would be something to draw in crowds... I'd also love to see something big spring up at Epcot too.

That was rumored quite heavily when the economy was better...Now? Who knows?

Martin says everything is frozen, if that's a indication.

So essentially all we need is for the economy to suddenly spring back to life, then all of our wondrous dreams for new stuff at WDW will suddenly come true...

I hope that does happen, but even if it doesn't right away, WDW still needs something big to compete with Harry Potter...

When there's news I have been updating this thread:

http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=421792

There really isn't much on the horizon for opening in 2010 or 2011 right now, as the things that are apparently on hold would probably take a couple of years to build (those being the Little Mermaid Attraction, Monster's Inc Coaster, and possibly Mysterious Island at the Animal Kingdom).

how about a real thrill coaster like sea world and universal are doing? we got RRC at HS but other than that the tree mountains at MK and EE are themed rides designed rto be like coasters. Im definately NOT saying they arent fun wonderful rides, but me being a REAL thrill seeker i gotta have that adrinaline rush and those rides are great but i want more. how about a floorless take off coaster? a mix between the hulk and montu? that would be sooooooo cool!!!:sohappy: where could they put it? epcot? maybe a stitch coaster in tomorrowland!!!!:D:lookaroun why not everything else there is stitch anymore
stitch mountain?
stitchs great escape
stitch stage show
caroussel of stitch

of course it was a joke but with all the stitch shows it might as well be called stichland. only my opinion. they are putting way to much emphasis on that character.

 I thought that was really funny.
You are right...they do put a lot of emphasis on him.
Maybe because he's an alien and it's Tomorrowland, they feel they can exploit him...?
Eh, just give me TTA and I'm happy.

At the end of 2010 i think we will def see a new celebration announced for a new 2011 celebration, and with this i think there will be alot of announcements for new attractions opening during the big birthday year, hopefully one in each park! I also think disney probably have something up there sleeves to annouce nearer the time Harry Potter opens as disney are good a leaving annoucemnets to pretty late in the process. eg. work on AI theater was well on the way befotre they annouced exactly what was going on.

"aka 2010 will be the year of announcements"
