What is #Disney-Central and How to Use Guide

Alright so it's 2:09 in the morning and I don't want to, or I should say, don't have the momentum or energy to go through the whole process to get to the movies. Is there anyone who has Wishes that would be willing to send it to me via email or PM? I've always been looking for any video or sound from the show but I have never been successful. I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks again!

Try again tomorrow. Trust me, there are so many goodies there that it is worth it once you get your head around the whole thing

Question about timing out.

I posted this to the IRC room, but got no answer, so I'm going to post it here.

Situation: I request a file and am put in the queue. 60 seconds later, I'm disconnected from the fserve (but not IRC) due to the timeout timer. Does this mean that the file will not be sent via DCC or will I still be able to recieve the file. Some other questions about downloading: If I have queued to download three different files, each one from a different fserve, and I go away from the computer for 10 minutes, or go to cook dinner, or something like that, will the files still send via DCC if I've got it on auto-accept? And is there a timeout on that too?

Thanks in advance! :)

I've not has the disconnection thing from #Disney-Central, but I have experienced it elsewhere. It did not seem to affect any file transfers. As regards leaving the PC, as long as you have auto accept on and the file type to be transfered is in your OK to accept list then you should be fine.

Yup, just to clarify, most fserves have a time limit on them to prevent people from staying logged onto them for an extended period of time. How long that is depends on the individual server, but it will usually kick you off the fserve within 30-60 seconds of remaining idle. However, even if it ends that session, so long as you are still in #disney-central you will remain in the queue to download. The only time you will be kicked from the download queue is if you log off entirely.

Even then, in some cases, depending on how long it takes to get to you in the queue, if you are logged back in by the time it downloads, you will still get the file. For instance, I've gotten into a queue before and then run into computer troubles and had to reboot, and immediately re-entered the room and I was still in the queue. However, if it tries to send you the file and you are not in the channel, you'll lose your place. This is not true for every server, though, sometimes you may be removed from the queue if you leave the channel.

Cjasksonii - I think your questions have been answered:

1. If you are in the queue, you remain in the queue. The fserve WILL kick you out, but that is nothing major. You could shut down your computer and you would still be in the queue. (obviously you need to be on and in the channel to ge the file - but the point is once you are in the queue, you remain in the queue.)

2. As long as you are in the channel and auto-accept is on, you will get the file - does not matter how many fserves will be sending you files.

I'm having the weirdest problem. I've used mIRC a long time ago, but never for this channel. I figured I would try it out and see what you guys had there and I installed mIRC and Invision. Everything is setup perfectly. I tried every single link in your signature RU24 and I either got a connection refused or I was BANNED?! Why would I be banned when I've never even used it before?

That message about being banned is misleading. I get it sometimes too. It just means the server cannot take anymore connections. Instead of trying the links in our signature, just go into the Mirc options => servers and choose random newnet.net server. It finds one to connect to. Then join the channel.

Hi again, and thank you for your response.

The thing is, I tried connecting to the random newnet server, but I get this error when I try to connect:

ERROR > 465: You are banned from this server- AGLINE ID f1939f0248e24d002e4089453eb1

Subsequent errors just read: (***Banned)

Thats why I was puzzled. I couldn't even connect to NewNet. It connects the first time and gets down to "cac2889 sets mode: +i" and then it gives me that error.:(

That's odd. I just selected 'random newnet server' and reconnected within 10 seconds. The server it connected me to is newnet.ludd.luth.se on port 6665
You may want to try that one directly.

Hi again...i tried your connection. I still get the same thing.

I am connected to a wireless router. Is there anything special I need to adjust to get it to work through the router? I don't have access to the router settings, so is there anything I might be able to do on my side to get it to work? The router has a built in firewall I believe, though I can't be sure.

Here is part of the log file:

Code:

Just my t`penth` worth - I`ve got a wired router and have nno problem (it does indeed have a built in firewall), but I added my network after using IRC on my old machine - I don`t know if the network took this into account (i.e. existing program access) when it was set up by the technician (hold my hands up - I paid someone else to install it!)

Also, just a thought, If you have a secondary firewall (Zone Alarm, Norton, XP etc.) check you grant access here too.

Newnet is still giving us trouble. They updated their services and it has shredded the Newnet IRC network to pieces. It's like starting all over.... sooo... I've created the channel on the IRCHighway.NET IRC service. Please join us there. Servers and Ops will need to register their nicknames in order for me to add them to the channel access list for auto-op and auto-voice. The command to register is:

/msg nickserv register password e-mail@address.com

Log it in with
/msg nickserv identify password

Then join with:

/join #disney-central

Hope to see everyone in the new channel at IRCHighway.net soon.

If you're at Newnet now, you can type this command to switch servers:
/server us.irchighway.net 6669

FYI, I connect to IRC on my Mac using a program called Ircle. It is by no means as cool as mIRC, but it gets the job done on a Mac.

I had mIRC on my old computer and it worked fine. Im trying to set it up on my new one, and I followed all the steps but when i try to recieve a file, the download box pops up, but then it says "connection failed." If anyone could help at all I'd really really appreciate it. I checked all my settings with the IRC guide at least 4 times and it still doesn't work.
