Alright I've got a question, is this program (mIRC and INVISION) going to take up a lot of space on my laptop? I don't want everything to start running slower if I get it, but I've got lots of media files that I want to share and have been wanting to get on and check everything out. If not, I'll be stuck listening/watching my own stuff. Thanks for the help!

I don't really have an official answer on how large of a file it is, but from my own personal experience I don't think it's too large. It hasn't slowed anything down on my laptop.

Mirc with Invision takes up 43MB on my harddrive. I've been running it several years now without any slowness incurred by the program. I'm more likely to get a slower PC from browsing to websites that load spyware to my PC. The spyware is what eats all your speed. AdAware and Spybot can remove that crud. I've since taken a liking to the Firefox browser to avoid that stuff even being able to creep on my machine.

The basic install is even less then Jedi posted. I looked at my directory and the entore mIRC fodler is 60megs. However, my log file is 45megs - so the basic program is 15megs. Invision accounts for 8 of those 15 so I guess mIRC itself is 7.

Running the program itself is no drain whatsoever. I leave it running no matter what I am doing; from editing a video to burning DVDs. I can even leave it on while playing online games. There is very little drain on the system.

HELP!!!!

I downloaded everything I was told to and I configured everything correctly, because I can get on Invision. I can not find #DISNEY-CENTRAL.

What I'm I doing wrong or not looking at right?

Double check the settings as listed in the guide:
http://www.wdwresorttv.com/index_guides.htm

They have recently changed, so if you have the older settings it won't work.

As Barnam said, some of the older guides points to newnet. We moved to irchighway. The web site has all the correct settings.

Ok...a little question if you understand at all...

Where it says "DCC folders get...." and then in the folder on the website it says "default but with an arrow to go down to more options...on my comp there were just about 6 things there, default, and other stuff like audio and stuff or something...are you supposed to delete the others except for default? Or leave them there?

Again- i hope that made any sence! lol

Thanks for the info. I found you. Now I have another problem. I can not download anything. I followed the info on wdwresorttv, but when I go into my DCC Folders I do not have a screen like is show on the instructions. I have a listing of six things and then add delete okay cancel.

So I found you but I can't do anything. And to top it off I didn't have much time to figure it out at home. Now I'm at work and do not have access to play with it. Somemore help would be great.

Still :brick: , but not as bad as last night.

If I would have read the ? before me they asked the same thing, but they figured it out so......

I'm at work too, so can't check.

But, there are so many versions of MIRC around and they all seem to have the menus in different places. I'm afraid it will be a case of trial and error to find the correct menus. But once you find where they are, most of what you see in the guide is also there - even if spread across two separate menus.

When you say you can't download, do you mean that your system is not configured to accept the type of file you are after? Or maybe it's a case of your being in a queue and just having to wait your turn.

My suggestion would be to try and find some help while in the channel. There are many knowledgable people there who can real time help you with whatever problems you are facing. Just public post a mesasge along the lines of HELP!!!!!!!! ;)

I just wanted to stop by and thank all the members responsable for keeping Disney-Central. Some people may view it as stealing or whatever they wanna call it, but for an International Disney fan like myself, some items are virtually impossible to acquire, because of distance, availability, exchange rates or what-not.
I was planning on buying "Disney's Instrumental Impressions" so that I could use its version of "Bella Notte" on my wedding ceremony (lady and the Tramp is our favorite film). It was gonna cost me a pretty bundle, since it's out of print and all that. Lo and behold, Popkid has it at DC.

So thank you, thank you, thank you very much, guys. Like Walt himself, and CMs all over the world, you made a Disney fan's dream come true.

Ok, I have had mIRC on and off, to just to get some things from D-C. I have never had a problem with it....until now. I went onto the channel today, and when I type in !list, somehow, it just puts the list screen in the main chat display, and not the regular popup. Second, is there a way to pick the download if you have to interrupt it, or the only way to download files is download them fully? Thanks!

All servers in the channel support resuming ... so if your file transfer was interrupted .. the next time you download the file .. it continues where you lost it. :)

I'm having trouble figuring out how to navigate to the files I'm looking for. I typed "dir" like the guides say. I got a list of general topics (for example WALT DISNEY WORLD (FL), DISNEYLAND, CRUISE LINE) I can't figure out how to get past that point.

I'm using Invision. When I asked this question before, I was told to double click on something. But there's nothing to double click on.

Help....... please? :veryconfu

just click in your insvision

invision/main settings/use fserve explorer and it should work fine ...

or acording to your questions ..

when you've done dir and got all the topics , just enter cd [Topic] to enter this topic (cd Disney World (FL)) then dir again to display those Topics... and so on .. (to go backwards type c..)
until you found a file .. then type get [Filename] :animwink:
