What I think...as of today...for now...

I agree with everyone else on the construction issue. It takes time. Besides they didn't say when in 2012 it is opening.

well I know that LM is about 4 months behind DCA's LM
so we could see a soft opening about 4 months after DCA's opens, but that depends on the pathways getting there

Sorry to say, but that is completely wrong. Shanghai is a BIG team and is not being outsourced as far as I know.
Might wanna check on that.
I've been hearing, and had it recently confirmed by Lee MacDonald, that Shanghai was to be done primarily by outside vendors.
Bob Weiss is leading the project, and while much of the conceptual work is being done in-house, most of the actual design and construction work will be outsourced.

But of course, I could be hearing wrong....

Well the construction might be outsourced, but the in-house work is enormous.

Umm... no.

Carsland was still a parking lot as of July last year

LM only began construction in June 09.
WoC began in '08 but is complete.
Silly Swings began in mid 09 but is complete.

So check your math cause that's not 3-4 years. Oh and the Grand Californian DVC isn't part of the DCA expansion.

I think I said it is going very fast at DCA. That does not seem to be the case for the FLE.

More importantly, Midway Mania seems to have not made your list oddly enough. Perhaps you should check your facts before you post.

Sorry about that Juan.

Sorry about that Juan.

Not everything is as it seems. BOOM. There you go Jt!

Can we get back to what this thread is all about: saying what we all think TDO should put in instead even if it's all basically irrelevant.

That is why I used the word.:brick:

And sometimes things are exactly what they seem. Just waiting for some proof that I am wrong. And waiting, and waiting...

Here is proof Juan was wrong. Funny how he runs away when his credibility is questioned.

Proof.....

If you want to start going down that path, add in Tower of Terror, Monsters Inc, Bugs Land and Animation refurb.

What does that prove towards my credibility?

And when did I run away?

You are just out to cause problems.

Wrong it most certainly is. ToT could be argued as the fist step but that is a bit nebulous. The work to the boardwalk however has everything to do with the makeover. Even the 'floating' WoC projector housings theme matches the Toy Story aesthetics.

So anyone have any proof whatsoever that anything has happened substantial behind dirt mountain since the last aerial photo 3 weeks ago?

Ssssssllllllllllllloooooowwwwww.

I was clear that LM is moving forward but you must have missed that. And I believe you can see vertical elements in the aerial pic from 3 weeks ago. So far, however, we have seen nothing happening "really quick".

DCA has happened in stages because so much of the construction is within the park as opposed to the more isolated FLE and yet it shows progress from one day to the next. The FLE does not.

I have no doubt that LM and BatB will happen, it is the rest of the project, which is projected for 2012, that seems to be slipping.

Sorry if the truth annoys you. Not my problem.

Actually, it's your opinions that annoy me. Check out the DCA project tracker threads. Look at the webmaster comments about how "nothing really has changed here". TLM showbuilding there has essentially looked the same for the past couple weeks, and I follow those trackers pretty closely. I don't know about you, but I'm seeing progress with every over the wall shot. (But yet I can't seem to find your mythical "foundations". For someone who has admitted to having no clue about construction, you seem to have a lot of opinions about it. Since I don't have a background in construction, I'll stop here before I shoot myself in the foot by saying ridiculous comments.

And everyone is assuming the kids coaster is greenlighted already but I have seen nothing in the rumor mill that indicates it has. So 2012 seems a bit optimistic with all the changes occuring to the plan.

Not sure what rumor mill you're visiting. Lee said the coaster was a-go. Steve never denied Lee. I don't know why you're going to such great lengths to defend an unpopular (and baseless) stance.

I think I said it is going very fast at DCA. That does not seem to be the case for the FLE.

Sorry about that Juan.

You are aware that Midway Mania was not included in the budget for the California Adventure expansion and that construction had been ongoing for months before the expansion was even announced? Maybe you should be the one checking your facts.

Sorry about that jt.

No at all. I asked a simple question earlier and you essentially suggested it was an invalid question.

It isn't.

The project seems to have slowed way down. Just asking for somebody to prove I'm wrong.

Quoted for truth.

I'll second this. You can't call those as part of the expansion. They weren't budgeted for it. Look how short-sighted DCA planners were when they stuck the Tower right next to Bug's Land. It was a thematic nightmare that had to be corrected in the current expansion.

Wrong you most certainly are. From Al Lutz's October 18th, 2007 update (just after the announcement):

Bob then turned his attention to Paradise Pier, and explained all about the Victorian remake for that area that we've been telling you about all year. Midway Mania (yes, that really is the title for DCA's version), was included in the presentation, even though it is not formally part of the Billion dollar budget.

MM was built with the expansion a go and is part of the makeover. ToT also.

I'm not suggested the kiddie coaster is not happening, it may or may not have been greenlighted. I do believe it is the plan for the time being. Even Lee said those plans could change.

I have not seen any substantial changes in the visible areas of the FLE for 2 weeks or so. Even when they are just doing foundation work at DCA you can see changes daily.

Jt, you're always asking for proof but always failing to provide it yourself.
Although, I do applaud you for actually providing a link. I think we're moving in the right direction,

even you still seem to be wrong about juan....

Anyway.

I don't say I'm an insider. I'm just asking for proof the project is not stalled or delayed.

Again, what is your experience with construction? Even if you are proved wrong, you will just say you have been proved right.

Neither are apart of the expansion. Tower of Terror was a quick addition added well before the expansion/redesign project. Midway Mania was built before there was even an agreed upon direction for Paradise Pier, as the Mickey's Boardwalk proposal was still a possibility.

Once they decided on the MM design the decision was made. It couldn't be more obvious.

ToT was decided on once they decided to fix DCA. They would never have spent that much money unless they had decided to fix the park. That was in question at a certain point.
