What have you learned from WDWMAGIC?

I've learned how to brighten a bad day at work...visit WDWMAGIC and read or post on a couple of threads.

In fact I had never really posted much of anything on the web until I found WDWMAGIC, and although I still feel like a newbie (compared to those of you with 1,000's of posts) I love all you Disney Nuts and all the information you have.

I've visited WDW more than 25 times since 75' and thought I knew alot, but this site (plus www.allearsnet.com) and the people here have made my trips better than ever the past few years.

I have learned:

1. Not to take myself so seriously.
2. There is a bunch about Disney that I still dont know.
3. There will always be someone that will disagree with me.
4. Corrus is always correct.
5. The PML people are really a bunch of great people reguardless of what anyone thinks.
6. Steve ( and administrators) puts up with a bunch of crap and does it well.
7. I miss Thrawn's perspective.
8. Threads that become political get locked down quick.
9. Some members actually do provide beneficial information
10. There were a couple of times I was wrong about something.
11. 5th Gate, Monorail Expansion, Harry Potter, and thrill ride threads will always continue to be created even if members were required to search first, with a gun pointed at their head, dangling over a pit of vipers.

1. I learned it's good to work with a travel agent (Thanks Kingdom Konsultants!)
2. This place isn't exactly WDW, but those here in the know who want to be there as badly as I do are good company to have on a forum.
3. This forum encourages me to go back, or at least try to convince my wife to go back more often to WDW.

Among other things....

- Disney bus drivers and CM's information should always be trusted
- You will never get a concensus when asking a question here
- Jim Hill is the devil...but with the devil, you do get much truth with the occasional misdirection mixed in.
- There are some great photographers here
- Corrus is always right
- Regardless of turnover, low wages, and dealing with some terrible customers, many Disney CM's are truly amazing!

I've learned that disney fans come in all shapes and sizes, sounds and colors, financial backgrounds and physical capabilities... but at the end of the day it still never ceases to amaze me that a vision by one man brings all of us together and gives us a place to talk about what we love - and don't love so much... our favorite things and places in the world, and even in the "world"

I like that a lot!!!!!!!! I learned this site is great! It is one of about three sites I visit every day. I learned i can get my Disney fix enough to get me through until my next trip! My sweet wife and I visit about twice a year. One short trip and a week long trip, our short trip is in two weeks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im so so so so so so ready

I have learned about the scenes behind the magic of WDW...more than any I could learn about from reading a book on the subject.

Also, that people actually make a point of "mullet hunting" at WDW. That has got to be the funniest thing that people do there that I would have never known until this website. Now, I tend to notice it more there, too.

I thought I was the only kook who noticed mullets, smelly people, etc until I came here. I also realized my love for Disney was valid; only us true fans can really understand it.

I have learned;

It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all

:sohappy: Here's my most important lesson- If in doubt, ask JPVonDrake. He's my MVP. The most knowledgeable and helpful WDW person that I know.

So true! I couldn't have said it better myself. But I guess I would add:

1. Not all changes that come to WDW are negative
2. Not all changes that come to WDW are positive
3. It is possible to enjoy old attractions and current attractions at the same time.
4. Me and wannab@dis can disagree about 75% of the time, but seem to get along just fine ALL the time
5. I was very wrong about The Land refurbishment
6. I was spot on with all of my SGE predictions made in 2003 :lookaroun
7. Most of all, WDWMagic is the best site for news and rumors and I hope to be a contributing member of these forums until I am no longer able.

...one of these days I'll be on that list...

*sigh*

I have learned that virtually any time I go, I'm usually 30-50' away from a board-member.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
