What ever happened to the centerpiece on epcots entrance fountain

What possessed Disney to take away the Epcot entrance fountain's clear centerpiece? That centerpiece was a part if the Epcot logo along with the sphere! What did they do with it? If there not going to use it they might as well give it to me. I will put it in my yard and put some plants around it. It would make a great centerpiece in my hangout spot (some call it a garden I prefer oasis) along with my dancing fountain. I might just even make a fountain for it, not as big and complex, but it would look good (jk lol). I would rather they put it back up again.

Also, what about all those granite blocks? Those things are ugly! They should put those pictures up in a wall in the Innoventions breezeway or something (they would last longer too). The pictures are already fading I hear. Are they trying to kill us? What about the main logo? I hear Sylvania is to blame but I don't know for sure. If they are I bet they would be out the second the contract ends.

I know I'm negative but these times are critical; Horizons is missing, Dreamfinder has vanished (poor guy), and Wonders of Life is gone along with all the great memories. The fountain is not cooperating(?) and there is a big ugly stage in front of it which can't come down because it also serves as an Innoventions utility. There are two levels that aren't used blocking much of the fountain skydance.

By the way Epcot, I saw Dreamfinder riding over my house; You should really give him a call and set things straight with him. I think he's a little down in the dumps and I think he misses Figment a bit. You should really try to find that centerpiece and I think your fountain nozzles are a little crooked. Hope it all works out. Don't lose the fountain shows. I am a little worried about them.

Best I could do. I freely admit that I am no expert at grammar so please excuse any mistakes. Although I never visited EPCOT Center, I think that vintageepcot makes a fair point. I would like to see the fountain as it appeared in the past.

^^ I think John Stamos owns the original Disneyland sign as well. Why is a mystery, when it should be archived. :brick:

^ Here's the closest I can find of it being clear enough...what can that be called?

Not a fountain, sculpture, centerpiece, but something more appropriate...

And found an interesting pic of what some believe are the LaL marble stones, though I don't:

That fountain was so unique and diferent. Now it looks like a random fountain I would see at the mall. it does look pretty nice but epcot is supost to be unique and I think they should take more pride in that. Those marble stones are the tumb stones of what epcot used to be. Thats why they went up after dreamfinder left when horizons was demolished and when innoventions lost its dignity by getting the canopies installed and some of the dead fountain parts on the fountain of nations. Maby the centerpiece is buried under there to.

It's too big to not obnoxiously post here (there's a thread for that), but here's something interesting I found:

Apparently, there was one time another temporary use for the fountain, for the EPCOT F&GF.
And I have the feeling this will be verbally torn to pieces by its fans... :lookaroun

At least, based off the LaL kiosk hugging the mirror column, it meant SSE was in its third version. :)

I'm with OP on everything he said. They should commission a new sculpture for the top of the fountain, smash into little pieces all the granite monolithic stones, bring back Dreamfinder, knock the stage covering half the Innoventions fountain down, and straighten out the water nozzles!

:animwink:

Stamos didn't buy the Epcot thing... He bought the old Disneyland entrance sign in Cali. I actually saw an interview a while back where they asked about it.

I can't see it...

Well, two them anyway.

The 3rd plexiglass (or was it Lexcon) sculpture was cracked.
So where are the pieces?

Knowing Disney, I am actually surprised they don't do anything else with that centerpiece since that year.

Makes you wonder why?

EPCOTPluto...You change your avvvie like I post.:lookaroun:lol:I swear, you just had two different ones, in 10 mins!
I guess I never like the same one all the time. Always like something new. Perhaps this is how I will be remembered years later.

That is hard work doing that granite work. A lot of heavy stuff. I wonder if they broke it during the process.
 I hope not! :dazzle:

The fountain needs sonething....looks like they started to make it nice and new but gave up halfway through and never finished it. It dosent go with the modern futuristic look at all and looks like whoever designed it had too many styles in mind to come up with just one...

Like I said it looks like a random mall fountain. I was so afraid that they were going to do that to the epcot fountain. I was beeing sneaky I looked thru the 1 inch door crach in the epcot fountain construction wall to find out they were cutting the top pieces of the cement. Tey could of kept an important epcot structure. They did that around the time epcot went nuts with the canopees and that wand. That was a cool fountain culdnt be found anywhere elts like I said mall fountain.
