What do you do in WDW when it rains all day?

We always pack our ponchos - and generally wind up using them, too. A rainy day at WDW beats a sunny day at work, that's for sure! :ROFLOL:

My only personal peeve is that Disney doesn't seem to turn down that darned air-conditioning at ALL when it rains, and there's nothing more miserable than entering a refrigerated attraction or gift shop, soaked to the skin.

Buy a poncho from Wally world and enjoy the magic!! Dodging lightning is no fun, but rain is an advantage sometimes. Go get wet and have a ball! I don a poncho when I have to and act like I'm 10 years old again!!!

The Greatest days I have had at WDW was when it rained hard most of the day. !!!!

I sat during a downpour and was one of about 50 people who saw a candlelight vigil that night. My wife and I huddle under an umbrella and it was fabo.:sohappy:

Ponchos and hit the parks, but I also wear my Tevas - they dry much faster than a pair of tennis shoes!!!! (I don't like wearing cold, wet tennis shoes the next day. That just sucks!!!)

I'm okay with the rain, but I absolutely hate wearing ponchos. Also there is no worse feeling than walking around in wet tennis shoes and socks.

But the poncho is a good idea, because I'm usually in light colored clothing to stay cool. And a white top and rain are not a good combination when you're a female:animwink:

My #1 all time best Disney memory is spending four days in the parks during a category 4 hurricane. I was four years old and spent most of it inside my dad's yellow Mickey Mouse poncho, scared to death of the Haunted Mansion and Alien Encounter. :lookaroun

But that's just me. I love WDW in the rain.

We always hop on over to either the Contemporary-Polynesian- or Floridian. We bring mugs and a book. We do a monorail tour and try to get front seat in the monorail at least once. We stop at each resort and walk through the stores and look for cozy and quiet places to sit, read, and people watch. We love this! We even do this when it's not raining!

I get on with it! I'm from Ireland so rains something Im pretty darn familliar with lol! Usually though we tend to browse the shops for a while to see if it will die down before we brave it, if it doesnt we keep going! We don't fly 9 and a half hours to sit inside all day

Dear non-poncho guest,

after getting yourself soaked to the bone, please be aware your deodorant has probably washed away as well. When the sun comes back out or you otherwise dry out, please be aware that tank top shirt isn't doing much to keep noxious odors self contained, if you know what I mean.

Thew very first time we took our lids down to Disney, it rained a lot but we never skipped a beat. It was still so much fun so a little rain shouldn't stop anyone from having fun at Disney. :kiss:

I have the MJ crocs and when they are wet, they squeak. I am, however, taking them to Disney this summer and will wear them in the rain. That is, if I know in the morning that it is raining.

When my sneakers are wet, they really don't dry in an air-conditioned room. So, we put them in the bathtub and let them dry out there. Sometimes they really don't. I suppose using the drier at the resorts will do the trick, though.

if you stuff you wet tennies with newspaper when you go to bed they will be nice and dry the next am (although the newspaper is too wet to read)

We usually explore our hotel and then hit the parks to run around since there are so few people. My DH & I no longer mind a downpour at the parks after making it through Hurricane Charlie (our honeymoon @ the Grand Floridian - that was fun though b/c they had characters and other activities at the hotel since all of the parks had closed at noon). You can get some great photos of the sky and castle when the weather is crazy.
