What do you do in WDW when it rains all day?

I always bring a few ponchos with me that I have purchased at WalMart's sporting goods department. One of them fits right in your back pocket. And, if you don't use it, it is in it's own little pouch and ready to go back in your pocket the next day. I also keep a few in my car.

Like others have said... pick up ponchos before you get to WDW. We have been the past six summers and it has rained some on every trip. We have had trips were it rained 14 out of 17 days or only 3 out of 21...but we have the same amount fun!!!! I would even say the younger boys 6 and 8 have more fun when it rains. The heat really affected them. So don’t worry about the rain...just be prepared and have fun!:sohappy:

One of the reasons I feel a Disney vacation is a certain bet is because if it does rain, even all day, there are fun things that can be done.

Personally, I'll wear sandals and a poncho and go to a park and ride the rides. The lines are much shorter and there is much fun to be had. EPCOT's pavilion attractions are perfect for rainy days. . . Seas With Nemo and the Land with their multiple attractions allow you to stay indoors for hours without getting wet.

The Magic Kingdom is full of indoor rides and covered queues as well.

DisneyQuest is indoors. . .

I can't think of anywhere else that a rainy day won't zap a day of fun out of my vacation . . . but not at Walt Disney World. :D

Ponchos are the most horrible, plastic-y, chafing thing known to man. In the Florida climate, we just welcome the nice, refreshing rain. Besides, the heat will dry you off quickly anyhow.

We go to the parks as we would any other day. If a ride we want to go on closed because of the rain, we move onto a different ride. We head back to the hotel around dinner time & hang out there for a little while before heading to DTD, usually because I get frustrated in the parks when it's raining & DTD isn't as bad in the rain for me.

I love the rain when it is hot....forget about ponchos! I just get wet!

I'm with you! Why waste money on a poncho? I think they're uncomfortable and confining anyway and I love being in the rain. Rainy days are actually the best at WDW because crowds tend to thin out quite a bit. I guess a lot of people must think the rides are all going to shut down or something, so they don't go.

"Awning hopping": running from awning to awning and various other covered outdoor areas till you get to the attraction you want. Oh and yes cutting through gift shops and restaurants also work well. :animwink:

Great ideas, everyone. We also bring ponchos from home. 2 are from past trips and 2 are from Walmart. We use one to cover the stroller so when we are on a ride so it is not wet for my son to sit on.:)

We, too, have done rides, DTD and World Showcase in the rain. It almost always rains when we are there, so it is best to be prepared.
