It's fun...My son loved it

It's lots of fun. Like a giant Wii game. We had fun trying to improve our scores. The theming and details are amazing. We cannot wait to ride it again. I found it easier to play than the Buzz Lightyear because I have small hands and they get tired. I think it is going to be very popular.

Seems to have been around 30 mins early on Friday, then up to sustained waits of around 60 mins, peaking to 90 mins on Sunday.

2 hours peak on sunday...

120 mins was what was displayed when I left... and they had the rope exerior queue set up too...

Actually, when I was standing outside the ride, the wait time was 120 minutes.
Yep, Did you wait for it during that time? I know thats what it was after it broke down and came back up around 4:45... probably through 6-7pm

We were probably there at the same time. Heck, no, I didn't wait for it. Maybe if I hadn't experienced it yet and had nothing else to do I would have waited. But no ride is worth a 2 hour wait.

Yes! Only way I'll wait in that is if it's something I've never been on. (Or if I'm outside the ride waiting for a soft opening.)

Toy Story Midway Mania ROCKS!

I rode the ride 3 times last night, and I must admit that I LOVE IT!

It was really pretty awesome!

Here is a short video of Mr. Potato Head that I captured with my camera phone, and then here are some pics that I got!

Cheers!

Rode 3 times today for passholders preview.....this makes buzzlightyear seem very dull....this is the best interactive fun i have had in a long time. the queue is awsome (found a hidden mickey on the figure paint wall)be sure to pay attention to the ViewMaster reels, they have real color prints in them that are probly copys of the real thing.

I wonder why two people choose "poor" without giving a review.

Maybe it was "Poor" because they were just sitting at home, and haven't even gone near it.

probably

maybe on-ride videos should be banned - people should have to experience the actual attraction before forming judgement (imagine a a world without prejudice )

Sounds great! It will be a LONG time before I can ride it but I'm already excited.

I just watched a video of it on youtube and it looks like so much fun. I love the 3-D part, it adds so much.

DBF John, you have the coolest avatar that I have ever seen!

Just got back from AP/DVC previews today. We stood in line for about 1:50 to ride (they were not offering fast pass for this preview). The que area is spectacular! Even my kids (6 and 10) didn't have much of a problem waiting this long for TSM...this time. Mr. Potato Head was really incredible, and everyone that waits in the regular line will pass directly in front of him. He really does interact well - whoever planned that part did a really good job!.

The ride itself seemed to go much faster than the advertised 4-5 minutes, but when I checked my watch, it was about 6 minutes (we did have a short delay at one point). The play is really fun, and there are two different scores to keep track of (at least in my families case) - total score and accuracy. My son scored around 57,000 and I scored around 104,000, but his accuracy was 29% and mine was only 27%. Both of our kids loved the ride, my wife said it's her new favorite thing in the Studios (but she isn't a roller coaster/drop person), and my Mom thought it was really neat (her words). I can definitely see riding this again...and again...and again. That said, I have to agree with Gorjus - no ride is worth a 2 hour wait, with in our case, the exception of a preview first ride. We'll fastpass it next time we ride...which may not be until the fall again (we have seasonal passes).

Good job, WDI....good job!

My new favorite at the Studios as well since I don't do coasters/drops either.

I road yesterday in the Passholder preview as well. Line was long. They said about an hour and a half. I think we probably waited more like an hour. Still, the queue was really fun, the theming was quite excellent and the ride itself was GREATLY enjoyable.

I too found the shooting much easier than with Buzz. It felt to me like you had a better sense of where you were shooting. This is helped by the fact you can see your shot flying away from your vehicle.

The interactive things to hit are fun too. The blue balloons in the one scene mist you with water. Things with rockets in another fly at you and blow air.

We had a few hold times and I have to give them great props for this. Instead of being stuck sitting at a blank screen, you get free play, 0-point targets to shoot at. It comes up immediately and goes down immediately, so it doesn't add to the wait time, but it allows you to enjoy your momentary delay(s).

The description says it's a "briskly moving" ride and though that sounded like a funny adjective to use, they're right. It's definitively swift, but very smooth. The speed is the right level for it to be fun and though it does spin around as it takes you to the various games, neither Love nor I felt dizzy or ill. (And he's VERY sensitive to spins and puked after Mission: Space.)

All-in-all BIG thumbs up. I highly enjoyed the entire experience and I'll most assuredly be making more trips to the Studios to catch this. (And normally it's one of the parks we don't go to often.) It's a LOT of fun and very entertaining. I easily recommend it for everyone.

TSM preview

Went to the studios today to preview TSM. Got on early and entered the ride. It stopped a couple times, but was very fun. This ride will be a big hit with the familys. The themeing and queing areas were fantastic; and the ride itself was very fun and addictive. However... when we got in line for another ride the entire show buliding was evac-ed. People were very upset, as this seemed to be the norm for Saturday as well. The ride was down for a few hours. After getting on again with a re-entry pass they were handing out from the first closure we got into the ride vehicles and started the games only to have the ride stop halfway through. We were stuck for about 20 mins. when a cast member finally came to evac the ride and show building again. The cast members were very nice about this, but were kind of paranoid that we were going to touch the video show screens for some reason. They kept telling us not to touch them as they were very sensitive. They had to unlock each vehicle and escort us all out together. They did show us a lot of hidden mickeys and hidden pixars in the ride. There are quite a few of them in this ride so keep your eyes open (espescially when your ride vehicle shuts down :brick:) To sum up the preview, at least for today, it was nice to see the show building inside and out and good to get through one ride; but this ride is unfortunately going to be going 101 quite a bit in my opinion. The cast members were very prepared for what was happening, but there seems to be some serious problems with the ride technology. That was only today, and hopefully the bugs will be worked out. That is what the previews are for. Hopefully there will be better news and reports from others, and the ride will be up and running smoothly for the grand opening later this month as I anticipate a lot of visitors to TSM.

I may be going next week. A big maybe, but I seriously doubt it. Any chance it will be open then? This is like the only reason I want to go back to WDW this month, it wasnt open, obviously, last month when I was there, and Im kinda impatient to wait until July. Im hopin if I do go, it will be open, Id be pretty upset if it wasnt. Also, Im hearing crowds are light, thats great, havent been at a time like that since September, and it was great.

This was very strange. In all the preview days, this was the first it went down so much. At least you got to get evac'd off! That's pretty cool!

Yeah.. I don't think the ride was up more then 20 minutes at a time today while I was there. I'm pretty sure I was in the same group as you during your evac through the building... was pretty cool walking through the ride.. I'm surprised they allow everyone to stand so close to the screens while waiting for each vehicle to be opened up.

Yes, crowds are lighter then what i remembered from a year ago and the time i lived there. Crowds seemed unusually light for mothers day weekend.

The crowd level estimator has the crowds picking back up tho. It seemed pretty accurate thsi weekend.
