What did you do?

Have I told you lately that I 👍 you?
Did my non-Disney “Stay Home Virtual Half Marathon” this afternoon on a hilly paved trail. Kept a pretty good pace for about 9-9.5 of it, but it was hot out (79F) and got to the end of my water bottle, so walked the last 3.5 to avoid passing out. My review will definitely bring up the lack of water stops during all these virtuals during the lock down 😁. Finished 2:35

Honestly, had good weather to run this week and for some reason I just didn't. I even went out yesterday and for some reason I felt
like I weight a 1000 pounds and had a hard time moving. I just walked back home. Pretty sure it wasn't even a mile. I will give it another
chance today, though it is expected to be raining pretty hard.

Nothing wrong with having a bad day. I've had bad running weeks. :)

The nice thing about a bad run is that it makes the next one seem awesome 😀

I decided to do my last lingering virtual I had hanging out there today. The first race I had get covid-cancelled in March was the Vulcan Quarry Crusher (I was signed up for the Triple), it was before businesses were locked down, so they still gave out packets and medals despite not having the race and deferred everybody to next year.

For some reason, they won’t let me in the quarry to jog this one out, so decided 13.1 on a 79 degree day with just a 16oz water bottle would be a reasonable trade off for going up and down the quarry for 12 miles on a cold day with lots of water and went out to earn that medal!

Now, I don’t usually stop for photos of characters during a race, but couldn’t resist these two:

Beautiful day on the river trail (as long as you watched your step!)

Finished 2:18:34, with walking 2-2.5 miles of it, felt really good about the time. As you can see, my pace averaged 10:34/mile, but I really pushed it for a moment in the middle:

A respectable 109.09mph surge there. 😉

Medal earned!

4 miles this morning. Really tried to take it a bit slower and still beat last week by 9 seconds. I'll also take credit for virtual 5K #2.

This has been a really mild spring for us. The unusually low humidity might be helping with those faster times.
