What did you do?

Haven't had a chance to check in for awhile. I'm doing fine. I already worked from home so no change there, but now DH is home all day too, and DD is taking college classes online from home so it's not as quiet as usual. But I'm delighted to her her home because she just started running with a friend in college and can now finish 3m in almost my pace so I have a running partner for the first time in my life! I'm sticking with my 3 runs per week (2 short, 1 longer). We now have a stay at home order in Austin so running and groceries are the only time I leave the house. Hope everyone is staying safe - scary times.

Good news!

So this quarantine was driving me nuts. Being stuck in the house with three teenage boys.....yikes.

Gyms are closed and I just decided to run.

For the first time since January I ran and my feet are okay.

Ran three very slow miles Monday, two pretty average miles yesterday before we had (another) tornado warning.

Looking forward to getting back out there today. I'm alive again!

Somehow with three teenage boys at home I think you are going to be doing a lot of running...

That‘s great that your daughter has started running with you. Mine only does so when I bribe her, and then she grumbles so much it isn’t worth it...

Very odd, how in some ways a pandemic may have a little silver lining. A friend of mine went for a walk and her
17 year old asked to go with her. That usually doesn't happen. Happy social distancing together!!!

2.1@.5@9:31. And it's official, last run at the gym for prob at least a month. Gonna have to figure something out.

Glad to hear and good to "see" you back.

That's a thought. Grocery store is about 1 1/2 M away, I could combine the two and run over. Crossing 4 lanes of traffic might be sketchy though. Not sure if people would appreciate me being there in running clothes though. And it would mean multiple smaller trips instead of one big trip, leading to more exposure. Need to ponder that one.

You might start experiencing what I’ve been experiencing - there is so little traffic out since we’ve been asked to telework and all non essential stores have been closed that I haven’t needed to wait to cross a street in two weeks.

I ran 7.48 miles this morning at a 12:28 per mile pace. I was raining. I wore a light raincoat.
It kept the heat in so much, by the time I finished, when I put my arms down sweat was
dripping out of my cuffs from the inside.

For everyone who has had races cancelled/postponed due to the quarantine, Vacation Races and Virtual Running Club are offering a hilarious virtual option.

“Stay Home” Virtual Race

I’m not one who usually goes for the virtual races, mainly because I’m blessed to live locally to some great options, but this popped up on my FB feed and I couldn’t resist! I’ll be running a half on the 19th anyway in lieu of the SW Rival Run, so I figured why not. 😂
