Great weather, finally. Points 5K Saturday, 10 miles Sunday. Decided I'm not going over 10 miles anymore on these hills. My 10 mile time was a few seconds off my half PR. 3 miles this morning with a creepy moon. Light clouds gave it that Halloween feel.

Agree about the cooler weather. Its gonna be in the low 70s this weekend!

The saga of my training for W&D.

Finally got in a run today - 3.6 miles. Actually was more walking as there's a lot of debris along the sides of the roads in my neighborhood from the hurricane, making running a bit dicey. Every home has either a tree(s) down or ones leaning and ready to fall. About 20% have blue tarps on the roofs. My neighbor had 4 trees come down - 3 on his roof and one on his deck that also fell into his pool - he'd just redone his backyard. Tree companies are still around, taking down trees, making running an obstacle course.

In addition to the interruption from the hurricane, my feet and ankles swelled during our cruise last week. To the point I could barely get my flip flops on and had to forgo the Castaway Cay 5k as I couldn't get my feet into my running shoes. Plus, while clearing my yard of debris, I managed to get into some poison ivy and had spots on both legs, the worst was on the back of my left leg, right above my shoe.

I've not trained for W&D like I wanted, so will probably end up walking at least half of the Half and will definitely walk the 5k, as I want to concentrate on the 10k. Longest distance run to date is 6 miles.

Local points series 10K on Saturday. Perfect weather, overcast in the low 50s. Started out slow but about mile 3 started to feel like my old self and finished with a negative split. Finished third in my age group.

Just finished my easy 4miles on the boardwalk. Gorgeous sunny beautiful day!! Six years ago Sandy came and my house flooded from the ocean and our community was wrecked. But we are back! Very sentimental run today, lot of thinking, lot of success.

And a nice taper towards WineDineHalf.

Sorry you were hit so hard. Our neighborhood was just far enough from the shore not to get flooded but it had enormous fallen tree damage. We were without power for 2 weeks but we got lucky on the damage front.
