The night before you leave for Disney.

Do you sleep?
What activities do you do...if any at all?
What is going through your mind

Since this is my 30th birthday Vacation this year I'm making it the best it can get. The day before I go on my trip I have a few things already planned..And I'm only at 176 days to go as of this post:lol:

For starters I'm going the Museum of Science & Industry out here in Chicago. If you ever were there It has everything...Science, Space, Technology, Imagination, Communications, Health..Etc...Kinda gives you that Epcot-like feel to it which I enjoy alot!:D. After my little Adventure I would be coming back to go and do my little essentials banking and such. And then I'm off to Fry's Electronics for a B-day shopping trip and dinner with my parents..Finnally it's back home to make sure everything is set and then at 3am I'm up and on my way! This is a plus living 2 mins to the airport and then I'm sitting watching Movies on my PSP awaiting my arrival time at Orlando International!:D

Sleeping is not really an option the night before a trip, way too much excitement for it! I'm usually just thinking about all the things I'm going to do, and how great I'm going to feel just knowing that I'm there again.

I'm too excited to sleep! I keep going over my plans, my packing list and everything I want to do and see at WDW.

Definite feeling of excitement running through the house and little sleep - I have taken to finding the earliest flights in available to take advantage of that.

The night before I leave I am rushing around trying to make sure I have everything done. I get so excited that I think I drive everyone in the house crazy, wait, I do that everyday. Anyway, I'll have the kids sleep in my room and we talk Disney until we all fall asleep.

The day before we leave is usually an exciting day for us. I usually get up real early. Run my errands and pick up some last minute things for the trip. I keep putting more and more clothes in my suitcase, even when theres already enough because I feel like Im missing something. We usually make it a pizza night, so we dont have to cook. Clean up the house real good, make sure lights are set on timers, mail is stopped, and all that stuff. All of that stuff makes us even more excitedd!!! And TRY to get to bed early, since we always have a 7am flight out. But, I just can't ever get to sleep. Just too much on my mind, like..."By this time tomorrow, I'll be strolling around Epcot, walking to each country, riding SSE, sitting on Soarin." And it doesnt go away. So then I dont bother and just lay there...finally my alarm goes off at 3:30am, and I've realized that I only got maybe 2hrs of sleep, but im still pumped!!!!! Ahhhhh....i cannot wait till I get to do that again!!!

Oh yeah...I also make sure to jump on here right before I am walking out the door to remind everyone that I am on my way!!! But I get so jealous when everyone else does that, and I'm no where near on my way...lol

We always drive so I try and sleep because we leave early in the morning but that doesnt always work. Leading up to the trip the DVDs get watched along with all the specials that we have recorded about Disney.

We leave our dog at my parents'...well, now just my Dad's since Mom passed away at the end of 2006. :( Although he lives off of I-57, somewhat on the way for us, I don't want to waste valuable road tripping time veering off the interstate 10 miles or so to his house, plus the time spent on chit chat while there. So the day/evening before the trip down, we go down there and drop the dog off so we don't have to mess with it the next day. Last year, this was on Saturday evening since we were leaving on Sunday.

But this year, we leave on Saturday and we have Friday off. So a WEEK from tommorrow...:D...we will do the following (if I remember all of it, LOL):

Take the dog to Dad's

Mow...weather permitting

Go to the Post Office and shut off our mail for the week as well as purchase post card stamps.

Notarize a note authorizing my in-laws to make emergency medical decisions for our son while we are gone, since he will be in their care.

Do laundry and dishes

Get the van serviced

Go to bed around 9 PM so that I can turn on the TV in the bedroom and watch the new Samantha Brown Disney special as the last thing I see on TV before the trip!

Sleep, and then when I wake up I decide if I feel like going to a park. If the answer is yes, I make the 15 minute drive over there. :lookaroun

i replay the "can't sleep too excited" commercial in my head a gazillion times

i try to get the earliest am flight out to orlando so that i don't have to wait all day to get there. plus getting up at 4:00am to go to WDW is exciting to me lol. but that is the ONLY time getting up at 4:00am is exciting lol. the night before i usually go over my packing list 5 times to make sure i have everything. I organize all my plane tickets, magical express vouchers and hotel reservations in order in my Walt Disney Travel Company envelope in the order that i will be taking them out, then i obsessively set every alarm clock and cell phone alarm in the house to make sure i don't miss my flight, and until i fall asleep, i replay the vacation planning dvd over and over lol. Usually I watch the HCOE Dvd.

I really do have a hard time sleeping the night before, I usually only get 2 1/2 - 3 hours of sleep because I am so excited lol.

Then on the way to the airport I listen to disney music in the car, and make a stop at Dunkin Donuts of course....

And once my luggage is checked in and I have my boarding pass ready to go... my vacation officially begins!!! :sohappy:

only 287 long days to go... :sohappy:

We usually drive from New Jersey, so the day before is spent gathering everything I have purchased the previous 3-4 months that I am sure we cannot live without.

We are DVC members, so we have a full kitchen and we try to make good use of it. We always have breakfast in our room; so we bring muffins, bagels, butter, cereal, milk, coffee, sugar, OJ, coffee filters to last the week. I pack the items that need to be cool in an ice chest.

Then we have our snacks- chips, fruit, cakes, etc. And juice, tea and soda.

So this all goes into the trunk and then by 6-7 the night before, we are all packed and the suitcases go in.

It is hard to sleep the night before and we love waking up around 4:00 to get going and get a jump on jersey traffic. Only 134 more days for us, I can't wait!

I usually resort to having to take some kind of sleep medication so that I can rest! I'm kind of glad this year that we have an afternoon flight.
