In between books right now, but am interested in people's opinions of Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth. I've been wanting to read it, but the thing is...It's Oprah's Book Club's latest selection and I have yet to like a book that she has recommended. So anyone who's read it...I'd love to hear your opinion.
East of Eden was excellent did you read that one?
I too, have wanted to read her latest selection!

Now, I am reading Dave Ramsey's "Total Money Makeover"
:sohappy:

I'm reading Michener's The Source right now. I'm really starting to get into historical fiction. :)

I just finished "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield. Now I am about halfway through "The Love Child" by Phillippa Carr.

When I am done I am starting "Peter and the Secret of Rundoon" by Ridley Pearson and Dave Barrie and I simply cannot wait to start on it!!!!

Yes I also really enjoyed it. It was very captivating. I normally read alot of young adult fiction/fantasy but picked this one up on a whim because the description sounded so fascinating. I'm so very glad I did.

I will let you know Dot. Still have to finish my other book and then I finally get to start on it.
I take it you have read the first two. They are absolutely wonderful.

I couldn't agree more. That is probably the most awful book I've ever read.

I think we were required to read this in junior high. I don't remember if I liked it or not, but since I don't remember I am guessing it didn't have a huge impact on me. I normally remember books that I really loved.
I am tempted to try it again though, just to see what I think.

My English teacher that year hated the book, too, but it was in the curriculum, so she had to make us read it.
It's only like, what, 90 pages? But those 90 pages are just torture.

Realityland by David Koenig (at home)
The Witching Hour by Anne Rice (at work when it's slow)
Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner (in the car, I love to sit in the park and read after work, and chicklit is great to relax with =)

Yes, all at once. I don't know why. I've always had at least three books to read. Book ADD, I guess.

Lol, ok, I probably won't. I have so much to read anyways.
Can you give me a brief summary? I remember the title and know that we had to read it but I for the life of me can't remember anything about it.

Okay, its about this guy who is a pearl diver.
He finds a huge pearl.
His little kid gets sick.
He wants to sell the pearl to pay for the doctor's treatment.
The doctor's friends want to pay him a really low price for the pearl.
Blah, blah, blah.
The little kid gets killed by a coyote.
The end.
