Someday you will though but I have to say concerts have become way too expensive.

Yeah, that was from Original of the Species. The one with the guy walking was Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own and the one with the hands is She Moves in Mysterious Way. The B&W shot, I can't remember what song it was but it was right after Love and Peace or Else, as I took shots of him and Larry out there right before that one but they did not come out so hot.

Unfortunately, no. Pitifully enough, I've never been to a concert that wasn't given by a symphonic orchestra at any point in my memory. BTW, great pictures, I've got the one from Original of the Species (the big heads, right?) as my wallpaper.

I just have Moon Safari. What would you recommend as the next one to get? Thanks. :)

If you're more into their instrumental stuff, go for Premiers Symptomes. If you like the stuff with vocals more, go for Talkie Walkie or 10,000 Hz Legend. And then there's The Virgin Suicides score which is all instrumental and quite melancholy. They are all good. Just get them all. Each album has an entirely different feel.

I am so happy that people have mentioned Rilo Kiley (the singer's name is Jenny Lewis and she's gorgeous), Jack Johnson, & Sufjan Stevens.

I'd now like to recommend Bill Ricchini (singer-songwriter type), Damien Rice, The Legends, Coastal (very quiet and melancholy), Sigur Ros (they are from Iceland and that is reason enough to listen to them), Sound Tribe Sector 9, Lotus, Iron & Wine (covers The Postal Service's "Such Great Heights" on the Garden State Soundtrack), and Nick Drake (quiet, folky, melancholy; also appears on the Garden State soundtrack). Just get the entire Garden State soundtrack, okay? And then watch Scrubs and download the theme song "I'm No Superman" by Lazlo Bane.

Thanks, I will check them out.

For the others, I have thought about getting Sigur Ros, just have not gotten to it yet.

Jack Johnson is awesome. I have In Between Dreams, On and On and Brushfire Fairytales.
Love Iron and Wine as well. That version is on the Such Great Heights EP. There are 2 songs done by The Postal Service as well as two covers of their songs by other bands. One being the Iron & Wine tune and the other done by the Shins.

I also have the Iron & Wine albums The Creek Drank the Cradle, Our Endless Numbered Days and Woman King - EP. All are excellent. People should check them out. :)

I will check out the other stuff you mentioned. Thanks. :)

I *heart* Jenny Lewis and I just picked up her solo album and it is good. Different than what she sang on Rilo Kiley, but very good. I watched her perform recently with the Watson Twins and yes, she’s adorable. :)

Slipknot - "Live: 9.0" genre= metal (rock on itunes)

Aerosmith - Rockin the joint. As a diehard Aero fan, this cd is worth the money just for the versions of No More No More and Seasons of Wither alone. Every time I hear Seasons I get a quick chill up my spine. Must have for all Aero heads !!!

Foo Fighters - One by One
Velvet Revolver
Metallica - Kill 'Em All....how did I not already own this
WDW - HCOE....Now if only someone at Disney would listen to us fans and put out some of the background loops out on cd.

For a guy who does sports radio more than music, I'll take a stab at the artist, not necessarily the album name

1. Eagles Greatest hits - Classic Rock - 5
2. Alter Bridge - Rock - 4
3. Scott Stapp - Rock - 3
4. Michael W Smith, Worship 1 - Contemporary Christian - 5
5. Michael W Smith, Worship 2 - Contemporary Christian - 5

Lessee here. I'm a bit of a completist, so when find an artist I like, I go out and buy everything I can from them. So here's mine:

Foo Fighters, There is Nothing Left to Lose--Rock
Modest Mouse, Good News For People Who Love Bad News--Alternative
Beck, Sea Change--Alternative (or as I've dubbed it, "The Bummer Album")
Foo Fighters, One By One--Rock
Foo Fighters, The Colour and the Shape--Rock

All of them are great albums. Very few song duds. If you buy Modest Modest, make sure you get the DVD version 'cause it comes with videos.

I am on my next 5 (I tried to hold off a little but could not)

Kaiser Chiefs - Employment (listed as alternative but fits the same mold as bands like Bloc Party, The Bravery, etc. Kind of 80s sounding) 5 stars

Calexico & Iron & Wine - In the Reins - EP (listed as folk, yet Iron & Wine normally is listed as alternative when that is closer to folk, go figure) 5 stars

Jack Johnson & Friends - Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George (listed as rock) 5 stars

Iron & Wine - Live Session (iTunes Exclusive) - EP (listed as alternative) 5 stars

Youth Group - Skeleton Jar (listed as alternative) 4 stars

All 5 are excellent the last one falling short from the others.

I recommend checking them all out, but especially the first 4.

I am again on my next 5 (anyone else want to play along)

The Spinto Band - Nice and Nicely Done (listed as alternative by iTunes) 5 stars

Slow Runner - No Disassemble (listed as alternative by iTunes) 5 stars

The Beautiful Girls - Learn Yourself (rock) 5 stars

Donavon Frankenreiter - Donavon Frankenreiter (rock) 5 stars (he is a friend of Jack Johnson's who sings on one track, really good)

Thievery Corporation - The Mirror Conspiracy (electronic) 5 stars

Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous (Listed as alternative by iTunes) 3.5 stars (I know others on this thread really liked it but for whatever reason, I just don't dig it)

Oops, that is six. Oh well...

I've gotten two new ones...

The Curious George Soundtrack by Jack Johnson and Friends - 4.5 stars.

Make Up the Breakdown by Hot Hot Heat - probably listed as rock/alternative - 5 stars. It's a GREAT album, although a bit short. I hear it's better than their second release, Elevator, but I've never heard it before.

The nearest I can get to a new album is a DVD of the Musical "Our House" based around the songs of Madness:

It's fantastic. Some of these "tribute" shows use a paper thin plot to hang the songs on, but this is a very clever and funny show that makes uses of the songs.

Well worth a look - not you average Oklahoma. :D

I have that Hot Hot Heat album in my iTunes cart. I keep passing it up but might grab it soon.

I just bought Jack Johnson's In Between Dreams about 15 minutes ago. I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but so far it's great.

I'm really on a JJ kick lately

It is an awesome album. I think it is his best. If you like him, check out Donavon Frankenreiter on iTunes. He only has one ablum which is just named Donavon Frankenreiter. He is a pro surfer as well who is friends with Johnson. Very good stuff.
