Day 7 Continued…

I checked us in at Chef Mickey’s and we got a pager. We had our picture taken…

and then sat down to wait for our pager to go off.

It wasn’t too long of a wait and then we were seated. I was actually hoping we would be seated in Robert’s section. We had him the last two years and he’s great! But we were seated with someone else who wasn’t the greatest, but wasn’t the worst either.

The chef took me for the GF tour and said he would send out some Mickey waffles. The food was okay.

But we don’t come here for the food, we come for the characters!

At one point my husband started to annoy Julia who was doing her best to ignore him.

Love the report... You know in all of my 42 trips, I have never been to Hoopty Doo... I am going to have to do that on our December trip!

Oh and about servers.. Yes, we love some of the ones we get all the time.... And when you get someone else, they just aren't the same! We love Sunshine at Whispering Canyon.. Or Jeffro, both are amazing!

Do you find the breakfasts are a lot of the same all over the resorts? We stopped doing them. It was the same and the prices are out of control anymore.

Julia who was completely obsessed with abandoned River Country wanted to see its sad ruins and take pictures.

It was then that they became very eager to help her. They told us that the area where we were standing was the actual entrance to RC. They pointed to an area ahead which was the remains of Slippery Slide Falls. Julia was very excited to see it in person. So I asked them if we could walk over to the fence to take a picture of it. They said yes! So off we went - to the fence. And of course, as soon as I took my phone out to take a picture, it shut down! Yep. I guess it got too wet? I really don’t know. So I tried to dry it off under my poncho. The rain hadn’t let up at all. After a few minutes it was up and running again and I got a very sad picture - but it seemed to make Julia happy.

She said she thought the garbage can said River Country - but I couldn’t make it out. We walked back over the the CMs and thanked them very much and then went off to join Ross and Hope who were still undercover at Pioneer Hall.

RIP River Country

WOW! My 16 yr old begs me every trip to go and look for RC! She'd be sooo jealous!!! Glad Julia found it!

I really like this trip report! I can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip! Hope is so adorable!

I didn't even know they sold slushies at Goofy's Candy Company! One thing I remember them selling when I was younger was edible paper that you could write on. I wonder if they still have that...I saw nothing on Shop Disney Parks about that candy!

The video with your husband acting like a monster to annoy Julia was also funny!

Julia & I are are "breakfast" people so we like the breakfasts and don't mind that they have a lot of the same stuff. I think Crystal Palace has Pooh's Puffed French Toast which is not at any of the other places. I wouldn't need to do all of character breakfasts - but Hope loves them and it makes getting the autographs so much more easier! Since we have the free dining plan - it doesn't affect our budget. On our next trip, Julia & I are on a mission to try Tonga Toast. I doubt they have a GF option, but I may have to cheat!

Thanks so much for reading! I'm trying to sit down and post some more tonight. I don't remember seeing edible paper - I'll have to ask about that. Goofy's Candy Company is a fun store much to walk around it.

OMG Tonga Toast... SOOOOOOOO good... you can get it at a few places. If you don't want to do a sit down meal at Kona Cafe, then by all means just go to Captain Hooks. Its a quick service and exact product. Yum... I am going to have some in 50 some days!!!!

This was my one problem with Port Orleans - two bus shelters side by side. We always arrived early and would stand to the right end of the right shelter. Over time both would fill up with people. Two buses would show up - ours is the second bus. So we end up not getting on because of the rush. We were penalized for showing up early! This is one reason why I decided on going back to OKW for the upcoming trip.

My only tip about Captian Hooks, be sure you have about 8-10 minutes to wait for your food to come up. That little place puts out a lot of food!

Oh my gosh - 4-H Presentation season is done! Julia did an awesome speech on the history of EPCOT. Hope spoke about her Shopkins - the strangest toy I have seen in a long time…

So I am hoping I can wrap up this TR is the next week or so.

Where were we? Chef Mickey’s…

The food was good, but that's not why we go to Chef Mickey’s. We go to see our friends!

We were celebrating Hope’s “Disney” Birthday!

Day 7 Continued…

We left Chef Mickey’s and boarded the monorail for the MK. Of course, it was raining again so out came our ponchos. We had a FP to meet Tinkerbell so we went to the Theatre. Hope decided she did not want to meet Tink - she wanted to meet Magician Mickey. I told her we would visit Mickey later - but we had FP for Tink. She started to kick off a little bit but was able to get it together by the time it was our turn.

When we exited, it was still raining. Julia didn’t want to ride IASW or PP so we split up. Julia and I went to see Monsters, while Ross and Hope went off to Fantasyland.

After Monsters, Julia and I went on CoP. During the second scene someone tried to exit the theater which of course set off the alarm and made the scene repeat. We didn’t really care except just as the scene was about to end for the second time, the same person tried to exit again!!! So we got stuck in the scene a third time!

After we got off, we checked in with Ross & Hope who were still in Fantasyland. It was still raining so Julia and I headed to the Country Bears.

When we got out of the show, the rain had finally stopped - at least somewhat. So we went over to BTMR.

Hope wanted to see FoF parade, but the weather was so yucky. While it was raining very hard - it was still drizzling on and off. I knew it would probably be our last chance to see it, so we went to find a spot to stand.

Luckily, the sun came out and we were able to take off our ponchos to see the parade.

Right after the parade, we returned to Fairytale Hall to see Anna & Elsa.

Hope wanted to see CoP - so we walked to Tomorrowland.

Julia & I were happy that no one tried to exit this time! lol

Day 7 Continued...

Soon enough it was time for our ADR for BOG. I love this restaurant but I HATE the wait! I don’t get why we always have a long wait here. I was just hoping that it wouldn’t start raining again.

The weather remained threatening, but we were lucky it didn't rain while we were waiting. As much as I hate the wait, it is a beautiful restaurant - inside and out.
