Day 7 Continued but almost done...

There's something about this restaurant that Hope does not like - sensory wise. She always needs her sunglasses on and has a hard time adjusting.

Julia and Ross got the "Grey Stuff' but I was good and ordered the GF puff thing. Not quite the same.

Day 7 Continued...

How could I forget to post pictures of the Master?

When we exited BOG, we made our way to Buzz.

I was determined - I wanted to max out so badly, but I was running out of time! Would I do it this time?

No.... But oh so close!!!

Day 7 Completed......

Hope wanted to ride Dumbo so we headed over to the big top.

At some point, we passed the Rapunzel bathrooms. I have to admit, I have never been in them, so I told Ross we needed to stop so I could check them out. Now, my husband gets cranky at the thought of wasting precious Disney time checking out the resorts and taking pictures of food, so you have to imagine how he reacted to me wanting to look at a restroom. However, I won out out and he waited outside for us girls. Well, I should have kept walking... they were disgusting! I mean completely GROSS. I didn't let any of us use them! I have never been in a bathroom at Disney that was like this. I can't ever describe the fifth. I was stunned. It took away from being able to see the prettiness. I think Ross sent Stinkerbell in to make it dirty so I wouldn't ask to stop and see another bathroom again!

We went to see Enchanted Tales With Belle. Last year, this was a tough show for me to watch, but after our magical time at FOTLK, it made it much easier. It was a lovely show and Hope was excited to meet Belle at the end.

Since we were right next to Ariel, we stopped in to say hi. There was no wait - and I mean no wait. We walked right up to her!

The park was almost closing, Julia and I rode Space Mountain...

Then we took one last ride on Buzz.

Would I do it this time? Could I become a Galactic Hero?

YES!!!!!!!!

Victory!

We headed home for the night - Hope was out by the time we got to the bus stop.

That concludes day 7. (Finally)

Day 8: September 18th

We woke up to sunny skies and hoped that the day would remain mostly dry.

We were heading to AK and then hopping to EPCOT later in the day. We are just not AK people I guess. One day I swear I will walk all the trails and take it all in - but right not, we are just not into it.

We had another yummy breakfast at the resort and then got a bus to AK.

Soon enough, we arrived!

We had a semi short list of what we wanted to do: Dinosaur, Everest, Nemo, FOTLK & the safari. So we set off to enjoy the day!

We made our way to Dinoland where Ross & Julia rode Dinosaur while Hope and I walked around a bit. Then we switched. There was no one on line! We literally walked on…

This is how empty it was!

Up next: Nemo…

Julia's knee was bothering her, so she started to wear her brace.

Then Everest…

Day 8 Continued…

After we conquered the Yeti, we found our way to FOTLK. There were 4 cast members today running the show, so I suppose someone was sick the other day. Amazing how seamlessly they carry on - even down one person. Ross asked me if I dumped all my pictures. I was still mad at myself that I didn’t get the best video the other day when they picked Hope. Right before the show started one of the cast members came over and asked Hope if she would help get the audience ready. Seriously? I could not believe it! I asked if I could go help her and she said “Sure”! It was another magical moment that I still can’t believe. (And I had enough memory on my phone for Ross to film it.)

This show is just so awesome!

I would say that it couldn’t get any better, but sure enough, Hope was asked once again to join in the finale.

I really need to prepare her that this doesn’t happen every time! lol

It was amazing to see her be a part of it. Earlier that summer, I cried when she did her first show and tell with her summer camp group. You have no idea how many tears flowed during this show! Again - hats off to all Disney Cast Members who took care of her so instinctively and kindly, yet treated her just like any other kid there!

Since we were right in Africa, we boarded our safari…

Not sure what was going on here... I assumed it was feeding time.

Hope decided she wanted to see Pocahontas again and Julia wanted to ride Everest, so we split up.

We met back up to ride Dinosaur and Triceratops Spin.

Then it was time to head out. We stopped for a picture.

Bye AK - see you next year. Hopefully RoL will be up and running by then!

Just stumbled across this yesterday. We are planning a trip for this September so I did a search for Sept trip reports to get a feel for the crowds and weather (hope all this rain isn't the norm!) So funny because as soon I started reading I recognized you guys. I've definitely read your reports before

Your trip sounds amazing, I'm so happy Hope had such a magical time.
You guys are late night people huh? Total opposite of our family, we are early risers, early to bed! I know you were bummed about missing your early ADR in the MK. On our last trip in Nov 2014, we had a pre park opening ADR at CRT. I had dreams of walking down a near empty Main St, taking beautiful pictures. However, since they let alllll the morning ADR people in at once, Main St was actually pretty crowded. And my daughter was being a huge stinker and refusing to let me pose her properly to get the best picture I could. The whole situation was so disappointing. Hopefully you have better luck some day!

We are going 9/23-10/1. How about you guys? We are staying in All Star Sports with the quick service dining plan for free so this time around, we only have 1 ADR since we would have to pay out of pocket. It is at Tusker House (we let our 5 year old choose). We've never been here for breakfast so I'm excited. Its at 8:05 so still pre park opening but not quite the same as at MK

I know… I'm shameful not finishing my TR yet. Julia keeps yelling at me, but life has been so crazy!

Day 8 Continued…

We left AK and headed for EPCOT. I can’t remember exactly, but I think there was a bus running directly there.

EPCOT had EMH until 11PM so we were ready to go. We wanted to get a picture at Innovations for the Disney Visa Rewards Card. So we stopped there first. Poor Innovations… so sad and lonely!

After our photo, we made our way for WS. Julia wanted to eat in Japan - QS. I was excited because we have never eaten here before. We took our time since we did not have an ADR to rush for. Dinner was ok - nothing too great. I have the GF salmon which was basically plain salmon - no sauce - so it was a bit dry.

Julia wanted her picture by the fountain...

And of course daddy has to…

PHOTOBOMB

We walked around and stopped in Mexico for a trip with Donald.

We noticed all the signs for F&W. It would be starting a few days after we left. I was happy though, last year when we were there on opening day - it was CRAZY busy!! As much as we enjoyed experiencing F&W - I don't think I would want to visit during it again. I'd rather have a less crazy EPCOT. (Spoiler Alert - Foreshadowing taking place here.)

We stopped at Club Cool for a quick drink and then went inside to use the bathrooms. Starbucks was handing out free samples of a caramel latte. Very yummy!

Julia stopped to read a little about EPCOT history. (She was planning to do a report abut EPCOT so she enjoyed it.)

Hope wanted to ride Figment so off went went…

Then we walked over to the Land to ride Soarin.

We were so happy to see that Living With The Land had reopened! So after our fight over California, we boarded a boat. About halfway through our agricultural journey, Ross noticed Hope squirming around a bit. He asked her, “Do you have to go to the bathroom?” Of course, her answer was ,“YES”. We looked at each other knowing that the rest of our ride was going to be painfully slow. And we were right!

By the time the boat was pulling up for us to get off, she was on her feet ready to go! No sooner as we were out of our boat, I grabbed her hand and booked it for the restroom As we were getting closer, apparently one of her shoes fell off. Neither of us noticed and just kept on going. A lady picked it up and called after me - I paused so she could hand me the shoe and that was all it took for Hope to get away from me. She took off at a faster speed that me! She was on a direct path for the women’s room with me close behind. Just as we were getting to the entrance of the bathroom Hope suddenly stopped. I knew what was coming - I called out “NO!” to her - but it was useless. My sweet Hope who misses so many social cues, pulled up her dress and pulled down her pants - and then “hopped” the rest of the way into the bathroom. I couldn't help but laugh. People coming out of the bathroom just watched as my little, one shoe, naked butt princess hopped along to the first unoccupied toilet. However, we made it!!! No accidents!

After our bathroom adventure, we walked to pick up our Visa photo and then took a spin on Spaceship Earth. We played some games afterwards.

Then we split up. Ross & Hope went off to Nemo while Julia & I went to Test Track.

We rode once together and then did the single rider line once.

It was nearing 11:00PM… We decided that we would meet up with Ross & Hope and try to ride Soarin one last time so we headed over to The Land. When we got there, the CMs were calling out for the last riders to get on line because the line would be closing soon.. There was no sign of Ross or Hope - but sure enough, just as the CM called out - last chance - they appeared and in we went! As we walked, I realized that Hope was fast asleep! I figured that she would wake up when we got to the front of the line so I just let her be. Worst case - I would just slip out with her and not ride.

Sure enough, as soon as “Patrick” stared to give his speech, she popped up!

It was awesome! We were the in the last flight of the day! As we exited, it was strange to hear the announcement start again for the next group of people, but NO people coming into the ride. It was even stranger to see The Land empty...

As we walked out we were among the last people in EPCOT.

It was almost 1AM when we got back to our room where Hope’s shoes were waiting for us on the bed.
