Well, atleast we know that they are trying to put something there instead of letting it rot like its been. So its a step in the right direction. Its good to see that the name change is going to be bringing mgm some love.

They shoudl do something w/ my fav ABC 'Lost' in the theater to make up for 'Sound Dangerous' aka, the worst attraction ever made...sitting in the dark for 20 minutes listening to Drew Carey drop things and wearing yucky ear phones is not cool...

I really like the 'Lost' idea. American Idol does have some ties to Disney. Just Last Year, they did the Idol Gives Back Show At The Disney Theatre In California, and Simon Fuller, the creator of the show along with Simon Cowell are over the ABC Show 'American Inventor'. Maybe Disney and Simon have a good relationship.

ABC announced on dancing with the stars a reality show that combines dancing and singing and is hosted by two of the judges from dancing. If the screamscape rumor is true, would it be based on this?

How about...

Bring back something like Super Star Television.

Guests could be on...

AMERICAN IDOL and sit in for Simon and give their own "critique" of a pre-recorded video of a singer.

GREY'S ANNATOMY and have to perform surgery on a patient as an intern.

HEROES and fly through New York to save the Cheerleader and save the world.

DANCING WITH THE STARS and try to dance with a cast member to earn a top score from the judges.

UGLY BETTY and help design a magazine cover.

etc.

Now that's a hit attraction that is easy to update and could happen with the purchasing of some rights to be able to use the copywrited material.

Just a guess but in my opinion, ABC is planning to use this theatre as a launch pad for a new show that is similar to American Idol. And if you think about it, the tie-in to "Hollywood" would actually work out for the new name the park has.

I also agree with the post above that this has something to do with the Dancing with the Stars spin-off. So perhaps they plan to actually do the production in Florida for TV? But I thought they were getting out of the being-a-real-working-studio business in Florida :veryconfu .

2008 - New Show Additions - Some Rumor, Some Confirmed - (10/31/07) The latest buzz claims that the American Idol style show I mentioned yesterday that could be coming to the ABC Theater may actually be a real licensed American Idol Live show. It sounds like they may be trying to use the leftover interactive seat technology from Who Wants To Be A Millionaire by letting the audience members vote to pick a winner from a small collection of volunteers willing to put their ego on the line on stage. The winner would likely get a prize of some kind, like a VIP Fast Pass ticket good for backdoor access for the rest of that day. Anyone know more?

Wow sounds really exciting....blah.

I get the impression that the Imagineer who was recently sent down to oversee Epcot, DHS and MK is the man behind this. I dont recall his name but he was the man that brought HISTA and Who wants to be a millionaire PLAY IT (or as I called it DESTROY IT NOW!).


Someone save the new Disney Studios!

I really can't see the appeal to anyone in this proposed show. With Millionaire you actually got to answer questions and thus take part in the show. But to sit and listen to a row of volunteers, who will not be able to compete with the level of professional entertainment available especially at this park, and then get to vote in the end, does not sound like a good concept. I guess most people would get out and wonder why they spent their precious time in there! :veryconfu

Yeah but people like to see others make fools of themselves, thats why alot of people watch the auditions of AI.
